Good review. I like that he takes the time to talk about the problems on launch and how the game has changed since then.

He also goes over my biggest problem with the game, which is how spongy enemies are, and why that feels wrong when you're fighting humans... pumping 10-20 headshots into someone before they die, just doesn't seem right since you're only fighting humans.

I get it, it's an RPG, but it still just doesn't feel right to me. Headshots should kill damn it.

They had me at the beginning. Then they did umpteen version updates that broke the game repeatedly. One by one the people on my friend list dropped off as did I. And there were a couple months where we all played pretty hardcore then just gave up. I haven't bought an Ubisoft title since this game, and I won't be in the future.

I just wish that it had been promoted as an RPG. Would have changed the whole playerbase. I tried the new content last week and while I like it, it really needs a group to make it enjoyable. By the time I clear out a group of mobs, they respawn right back at the same point that I encountered them. The new area doesn't have many environment points that are easy to exploit for single player tactics.

You can find groups easily in the r/tomclanceydivision discord although TBH the best time I had solo was running Survival which is shit for loot/hr means.

Underground is where the loot craze is at however with the current active global event people are probably farming the shit out of lexington.

Their in game "tutorial" for the global event was not clear and the west side pier area is just flat to me. All I got out of the global event thing was there are three "parts" to it, but I don't understand how it works at all. Ran around the pier last night because of all the people saying how it got better. Saw it advertised as a DZ, but instanced to you and in the LZ. There were no landmarks, didn't find any named or elite dudes. Highest I found was purples in WT5.

It's entirely possible I was missing something, but with the things I read, such as missions coming up to complete, I thought it'd be more active, but it was more like standing still and killing people with different weapons/skills. My WSP missions were:
50 Kills
15 sidearm kills
15 skill kills

And again, I didn't figure out what the GE: Ambush stuff was about.

You're sentiment is very similar to how I felt about the game (didn't watch video). I had a lot of fun at first and really liked the world, but I got to a boss I believe and pumping round after round into them felt so stupid to me. I gave up shortly after. While the games are completely different, I really enjoyed Ghost Recon Wildlands and plan to start playing again next week after I get my new monitor. Only Ubisoft game I've bought since is Far Cry Primal which I've played only around an hour of (liked what I've seen so far).

I played it once a couple hours and my experience is above. Only played the new West Side Pier, but it wasn't very compelling or it was over-hyped in what I read about it.

Part of that means recognizing your commitment to The Division. With that in mind, we’re adding a new type of achievement called “Shields” to the game. Earning them will unlock special rewards in The Division 2 when it launches.

So I've been reading more current reviews and videos, and it seems they really fixed the game up a ton and there's a ton of content. I really want to start playing this again. Is anyone still playing or thinking of playing again that we can team up for? Brobox or ps4
