Brawl did a much better job of making the differences more obvious for characters. While Fox, Falco and Wolf all seem like the same character they're really akin to something like the differences between Ryu, Ken and Sakura. They all have the same move set performed differently, and all their normal attacks were different as well. Ness and Lucas were the same way, Ike and Marth were completely different compared to Roy and Marth.
Falcon and Ganondorf barely had any differences apart from some normal attacks and the speed/power of their special attacks. In general, I don't even want a shoto-fighter type deal for characters in the same universe, if they truly want a better roster they need to start by making the characters actually unique.
Can't wait!
as long as the game supports the classic controller (which it should) there is always this.

Why would you need it for the Wii.. I don't understand..
It's wireless? Looks like it plugs into the controller and the device.
The Wii controller itself is wireless. And since you plug that thing into it, in a way it's wireless, but considering you're plugging a wired controller into it, it's more of a hybrid?
Unless the 3ds version really sucks I'm not sure if this game will be enough for me to finally break down and get a WiiU. Nothing else announced at E3 really is either. I mean they look like games I'd play if I had the system but it's just more of the same. Most of the games announced at E3 that I really want are all 3ds games, Zelda, Pokemon, and Smash bros. which also has a 3ds version. Game looks great on the WiiU but if the 3ds version is just as good, I'm not sure I'll want to get a new system just for this.
Newer Wiis dont have gamecube ports so its for that too.
Ohhhhh, it plugs into the Wiimote. Ok, I'm an idiot, thank you.
Guessing because of the new Pikmin game otherwise I wouldn't have expected him to come back lol
Was Fox known to be in the game before these pics?
Edit: Nevermind, seems so.
While not a surprise to see Olimar back, I would have thought they would release new characters in a quicker fashion than this.
Yes, these are all the current "known" ones http://www.smashbros.com/us/#villager
Fox was there when the site first came up
I think it's pretty obvious that Rock Pikmin will replace Purple Pikmin in the new Smash
Wake me up when something interesting happens.
