Still gotta say that the improvements to her UpB's hitbox and speed and knockback and the changed ledge mechanics greatly increased Zelda's viability. Pointed mentioned previously about no double fair/bairs are completely true and hurt her but the other changes far outweigh that IMO.
I agree, after watching that video I wanna practice a more risky playstyle with Zelda, but considering I loved double f/bair and used it as my main weapon (along with short hops being weird now and awful landing land) means the style of play needed has changed.
They've still done some horrendously stupid things with her, but that shouldn't be surprising.
Not to mention it is a lot easier to land her fairs/bairs/dairs including the sweet spot than before (no need to double fair as a result). Ftilt is pretty nice, yea its a shame about some of her other things like utilt, uair, usmash but every other buff really eclipsed them so I don't mind the trade-off as it made her better overall so I am enjoying her. These buffs they added obviously had to take some things away as well.
Ness Syndrome on my Palutena has been showing but will find a means to overcome that. Her Counter is so random to have I sometimes forget it exists.
Don't care what people say I like Smash Run even when solo, I was a big fan of the City mode in Kirby Air Ride and this has various enemies throughout the characters' games. I didn't mind the Challenge to beat it with everyone. Got various customs, trophies, and some gold doing it so no complaint on that.
Edit: Not a Xenoblade fan but have to say this "They will know our names" song is pretty hype one of the better tracks in Smash4
Woo won a couple matches online today.
What's the best way to practice? I've just been doing solo mode stock 10 against level 9 random cpu or going online if it's not laggy.
I dunno about having 10 stocks want to get used to 2-3 to have that pressure going if you fell behind. Can practice combos you may find online through Smashboards site (or vids they may have of gameplay by experienced people) if you want or just stick to 2-3 stock level 9 cpu and some online.
man don't practice against CPU, they dont play anything like real people
just do 1v1 for glory mode practice, its the best way tbh unless you have a dedicated friend you know is good. youll get a good mix of talent level and characters. ive raised my win rate substantially just practicing against real people.
Lvl 9 computers also are beyond unfair when it comes to reacting to all your shit. But when you start exploiting everything from them, then it's time to move on to real people. Lol
Any lvl 9 with a counter move is infuriating beyond belief
I think my c stick is going out. Sometimes i dont run when I should and so on. Ideas to fix other than buying a new one.
Finally got my Fighter Uniform for my Mii Brawler. Wewt!
Talking about Cstick on your GC controller? Or the pad on the 3DS? I have realized that the buffering and detection of hard left/right/down directional inputs is weird in Smash4 and can't be buffered properly (includes dashes, fsmash inputs during other moves, and going down through platforms you're currently on), while other moves like tilts work nearly 100% of the time buffered (and if you buffer one of the above things with an attack input, you're highly likely to end up with the tilt).
So there's buffering, but at the same time, certain specific inputs don't buffer. I'm sure Usmash out of dashes got special attention (hell, we've proven DACUS is still there also) so they always work, but other buffered things work very spotty.
Your problems might be solely due to this but I don't know. Something to think about.
Oh on the 3ds. Controller issues can be replaced with a new controller. A new 3ds is.. more difficult to easily replace.
I feel like for me, going left sometimes lags a bit (even not online, like picking character and shit) and other delayed reactions but it might just be in my head. Or maybe a build up of gunk or something? I dont know. Any ideas?
Same thing happens to me but its with smashes instead. And sometimes I don't dash. It's the Smash/Dash motion detection combined with Buffering I think. They didn't get the Cstick 100% right with buffer on Brawl (try playing with Cstick set to Attack like a true Ike main; you'll get pissed off when you randomly jump because you buffered it in a weird way). So now they didn't get it right here, and it's a worse kind of effect.
I'm up for some matches if you want some practice. Finally got home. Spamming Classic for customs at the moment and getting bored.
i'll say this, unless i'm seriously missing something, one character they totally changed/nerfed is Dedede. I'm so mad how much they changed that character, no more chain grab, majority of his normals are TOTALLY different (bair, dair, dtilt for example) like seriously, if i really want to dedicate time to that character now, i need some serious convincing, he was one of my ace in the hole characters in brawl. So sad to see him become total shit now at this point.
If you want use a big body just rock Bowser, he is a goddamn monster.
With Ike ending up kind of poopy I'm settling on my old homeboy/girl/it Jigglypuff and Bowser.
Chain grabs were shit anyways. Tech grabs, fine; but chains were shit
I think Meian said this earlier, but Smash Run is seriously fun as hell. The final battle part is kind of crappy because it's entirely random and reminds me of Mario Party BS nonsense determining who wins half the time, but these are the fun parts:
- Build your character with a choice of equipment, letting you pick between pure stat increases, or taking a few special effects to augment how you're going to approach your run... Or drop your speed to equip more powers for the beginning
- Custom moves are amazing, and again, certain ones will work better in Smash Run than regular matches
- The amount of powers and everything is cool, but their best uses are taking down big mobs and even more important is to use on a larger enemy group at the start of your run. Don't use equipped items though, they eventually suck in run... No hammars
It's a perfect combination of relaxation mixed with some skill, optimization, and that slight hint of tension to keep the brain running. It's freaking perfect. I hope more people spend some time in it.
