Seems Gamestop might stockpile Shulk amiibo's and then not sell them to up their rarity, and then sell the new ones as "used" at a markup after a month or so.

Pretty certain Nintendo could actually sue them for that kind of a business practice. I'm no lawyer, but Nintendo'd be stupid to not write things along those lines into their contracts... Plus it causes harm to Nintendo's reputation by them doing such an action, brands are worth money, brand is tarnished... It'd fly in a courtroom somewhere.

My first thought was also toward Nintendo having strong legal standing to say 'no'. But then I got to wondering about Xenosaga being exclusive to Gamestop and was wondering if maybe there is somethin dealing with merchandise related to the game that is still in effect. Who knows.

I wish I cared enough to want to buy any of these, to be honest. Guess it'd be pretty swag to have Shulk on my desk at work, but could care less about the feature in the game outside of entering a balanced one in a tournament for lulz to watch lower level players get trashed.

One thing I like to do in For Glory when I notice a player is playing super defensively (won't attack unless you approach) is to run out the clock and cheese them with a Sudden Death victory. I don't think I've gotten one person to stay for the next match after doing that.

With that said, had this guy beat me a few times in a row with Little Mac which was fine but then for some reason, dude had made a message using the name generator thingy saying how much I sucked. Played Ike and gimped killed him for the next 5 matches by letting him approach me instead (because his defensive game was on point but his offensive game was garbage) and gimp killed him for the next 5 matches and then left because I knew the only reason he kept fighting me because he was salty. lol

Being aggressive in Brawl or Brawl2.0 in general is a garbage decision. Doesn't matter what character you're on. Throw hit boxes that are 100% safe and grab. Never take any action that carries risk and bam, there's your free win.

I've already reverted to Doubles Only status for Smash4. It's kind of depressing to have to act like that, but at least S4 doubles are incredibly satisfying and can show a high degree of skill. Singles is definitely no comparison.

I'll only 1v1 if a friend asks, someone asks specifically for matchup experience, or I'm learning a new character. It's just not fun anymore already.

Was informed that JP Amiibos work with NA Wii U Smash 4. I haven't tested this myself but something to consider if prices continue to be the way they are in NA.

Defense is a good offense based on the match up and their play style. I had started to lose to someone who kept rolling into smash/grabs or just straight up grab making me have to painfully change my ways and start to abuse down smash more and aerial neutrals. I told him via names eventually that he needs to not roll so much and he just said "I suck" towards himself sometime before leaving.

Right, but a proper defensive style (does not roll often or predictably, all safe hitboxes, projectile use, power shielding, no gimmicks etc) has been the optimal style of play from Brawl and continues in Brawl2.0. The only situations where an offensive style of play will beat it out is when the defensive player doesn't completely understand the MU; this is still a thing right now with such a large array of characters and a meta that's not completely established yet. It's going to go full defense soon enough.

So for those planning to get a Shulk figure.. This might just be a gamestop employee trying to get me to preorder, but I had to go there to get a Zelda figure and my shop said they're only going to be getting as many figures as people preorder.
