so i started out liking yoshi as my main but the more i play zelda the more i like her better. also for some reason tonight suddenly triggers clicked for me, so i was able to finally play a decent guard/evade/etc moveset. now i just need to hone my a button use (i severely under-use it and over-use c-stick) and work on my aerial game.

Please see almost every other limited in number Nintendo product that sells way above MSRP.

Or be a cool Tiltstick dude and play with Cstick set to Attack, and hit a diagonal on it to trigger a neutral air.

Now it's Shulk time! I'm really feeling Vision lately. Most legit counter in the game. My grab and ground game improved so much too.

I'm actually having trouble with the pro controller with landing, god, I forget what they're called.... the "soft" directional imputs, specifically while standing. If you think of a smash as a hard attack, then the soft versions. Specifically, I'm having a bitch of a time chaining ground strings off of Dedede's down throw at low percentages because I always wind up following up with either jumping uair (which hits at certain percentages) or an upsmash, which only works at VERY low percent.

I might need to change the controls around a bit.

Smash = Attack + direction at same time

Tilt = Direction first, then attack

Also, if you're jumping when you press up, that means you have tap jump on. Turn that shit off and get used to jumping with a button if you haven't already

yeah tap jump is awful. i wish you could turn off/reassign down fall-speed-increase, too.

Yes, I do have tap jump on. I haven't fucked with the options since buying the game; just ran in and started winning. I'll get that off before today's training. Many thanks.

Pretty much anytime you get a character with a decent uptilt is the time you start turning off tap to jump. Most people don't realise how awful it is until then, even if they get over accidentally jumping in general.

Fudge tap jumping, it's awful. Took about a day to get used to jumping with a button only, but was well worth it. Unfortunately, still getting used to getting tilts out 100% of the time in matches, but I'm improving with doing them pretty quickly.
