Seems like every piece of news about this game is just taking away more and more things lol. Melee forever I guess.

Other than no cutscenes, have they said anything else that was really that bad? I've been skimming news for the most part since I'm a pure casual when it comes to fighting games.
Think they mentioned less third party characters at some point. Which to me, just seems like "less characters" overall. I could be wrong though, they could add a ton of first party Nintendo characters, who knows.
Is that necessarily Nintendo's fault? Didn't they say during E3 that part of it is because of how hard it is to get 3rd party companies to agree to be part of Smash? Maybe I'm wrong, but I saw Snake as a one time thing that I don't see Kojima agreeing to again. Honestly, I was surprised he agreed to it in the first place.
Oh, no, not at all. I just like having as much variety as possible. It just really depends on what characters they do add to fill in the gaps. And hopefully, less "clone" characters.
3rd licensing is complicated depending on the company your dealing with. Not all companies are particularly willing to work with Nintendo on such a thing. Other situations require a lot of red tape and legal agreements and who actually owns the rights to a character or concept which can be a company, creator, or multiple parties. Some issues come down to costs for the use of a creation which Nintendo may not be willing to pay. Then there were situations with Snake where the creator of the character had enough freedom to make the decision for himself or Capcom in the case of Megaman where it seems that they were extremely open about it.
Copyright and Trademark is a messy and complicated issue in these situations.
Well, if that's the case, maybe he'll be back in the new games~
Too bad 'Metal Gear' is one of the very few major IPs that has such a singular, down-to-earth entity in control of its licensing.
Usually I'm good at internally translating Rata into English but now I'm just lost.
No story mode is going to be kind of gay as it was a pretty fun way to dick around with random characters if you didn't have anyone to play with at the moment.
I wonder if it's going to go back to the 64's style of 1player mode. Also #bringbackmewtwo2013
I know why I liked Melee. Dr Mario in the green surgery scrubs. Fuck yeah.
There is a story mode. They said this back in June. I already posted the article about it, lol.
Kotaku was just doing bad reporting as usual.
I don't care about story mode, I could go for more time-trial/score based distractions like the Target Smash and Home run contest as a break from normal Smash gameplay.
I'm probably in the minority of that though.
