I'm in the store now!
In the store now. Pretty packed. Wait is about an hour long.
You get 2 matches in 4 player before moving along. Only one kiosk though.
This is so poorly done, still in line and got to play the 3ds version twice. I dono why nintendo didn't consider putting up at least a projector.
Seems the Nintendo reps have strict orders to cut it off at 9pm. Anyone in line is getting a wristband to jump to the front on saturday.
But hey, they're giving out Mario Kart flags and coupons. I asked one of the Nintendo reps if I could buy their shirt. They laughed.
Terribly done indeed. They need to have more than one Wii U. Its in a FRICKING Best Buy. Stream the feed over all the tvs in the store so everyone can watch.
AND, bring the gd gamecube adapter to advertise. Wii U pro Controller eats ass.
The control scheme was AWFUL on the control pro
Arrived nearly 4 hours early, 6 of us were there. Line progressively got huge by an hour prior and on time was near the entrance of the store. Luckily, I got my turn quick from being early and got to experience the crisp look of the game. I have concerns for Megaman in the tier (I won as him however) while Little Mac makes a mess of anyone on the ground I had seen (but I lost as him). Controller was just BLEH made it difficult to jump and B button properly. Much hype and sad have to wait so very long for both versions especially Wii U.
This is correct, at least for Wednesday but did not know about Saturday.
Surprised they didn't run out of the Mario Kart flags. more than one asked about the shirt at the Buckhead Best Buy. Don't know what coupons you are talking about though.
All they gave us was crappy buttons for playing the game.
Saw some old friends there from anime conventions. Was behind one of them in the line and then his brother and all their friends showed up. I nkew them all, so I was cool with it; more people to talk to, but the people behind us were beyond pissed
I hated the controls so much, that control stick just doesn't cut it on the 3ds. Can't see it being competitive at all.
Don't think the 3ds version would be in tournaments anyway
But my worries still stand for now
The 3ds is Great, plays well, smash run is fun.
But buy a 40$ game just for new maps and 1 new mode?
I know there is some connectivity between Wii u and 3ds but mmmm
(also my worry is only for those who possess both 3ds and wiiu)
Yah, I only have a 3DS... for now, so I'll probably get the 3DS Version, but If i buy a WiiU in the future I'll have to think about it. Still, I'd probably use a WiiU for like 1-2 of the games mentioned at E3, but mostly for Virtual Console lol.
Finally got my match in, god the pro controller was ass, but god damn the game is gorgeous
Buckhead Best Buy extended for 15 minutes, which let me get in on the 2nd to last match before they killed it. Got to try both the 3DS and Wii U.
Go figure 400 north had construction by the time I got out. Took forever getting home.
It does not feel like Brawl in terms of being flighty, but isn't quite Melee heavy. Decent balance, but I'll have to play it on a non crappy control scheme to really get the feel for it. I liked Greninja more than Mega Man sadly, but the Blue Bomber might feel different on a different controller too.
Played Villager on the 3DS. I don't know why anyone would pick anything but the default Villager, the others don't look anywhere near as menacing. Might be a good troll character to me like Pichu was, but I don't think i'll main it.
Really torn on buying the 3DS version on release. The screens on the XL really arent that bad for it, but I can't imagine playing it on a normal 3DS. If the control schemes are changeable on the 3DS and frickin X isnt jump, could be fun to Wi-Fi people and learn the new nuances.
Overall, I'm hyped. Project M is cool and everything, but I can see this version taking shape and being much more fun to play even if tourney play takes a small slice downward.
They had a stack of $30 off Wii U, 3DS XL, or 2DS coupons at the table. $20 off Tropical Freeze, Mario + Sonic at Sochi, New Super Mario Bros. U, and another title. Also %10 off on all accessories.
No limitations on the $30 off on Wii U in terms of bundles, but the coupon is only good 6/11-6/14 (The Smash Days) so Nintendo might have forced my hand and I'll nab the Mario Kart bundle this weekend for $30 off.
My brother went to the buckhead best buy.
Still so GD mad I forgot my 3ds at home. I need to play all the games I have.
Was almost hoping you meant discount on Mario Kart 8 (too hopeful) haha oh well
