Mixed reactions here. With no Chrom, is the Gematsu leak finally dead? Could have been he was planned and Lucina was swapped last minute.

With these FE additions, I can't help but think Nintendo might have exerted some muscle to represent the franchise with the situation Awakening was in.

That said, I am not disappointed. Robin and Lucina look like real chances for a new main for me. Robin might be really interesting pending on how his tomes work. I hope masked Lucina is a costume alt.

Still hoping to see Shulk, but this likely means no.

Captain Falcon hit Chrom so hard he got knocked off the roster and into a Final Smash spot for Robin.
I love how the trailer made Falcon seem like a huge threat.

Personally, I'm okay with this. Lucina was one of my favorite, and I was more attached to Robin than Chrom from the beginning since Robin was "our" character. I liked Chrom, but not nearly disappointed by these two being introduced... In fact I like how Robin plays.

So, postmortem on the gematsu leak? I'm honestly torn, thought that could just be optimism for wanting Shulk. I can see it both ways to be honest:

Chrom was listed as "appearing". And he is still appearing. It is possible, along with the "Pokemon from X and Y" and Palutena's screenshot on the 3DS that this leak was from early enough along where the leaker did not have access to materials after they were created. He could have seen Chrom being animated and tested with possible movesets, and then moved to Final Smash status in favor of Robin and Lucina. It is still crazy to me how the leak had been 100% up until Chrom being playable. No way you go 8 of 9 on those reveals without having some inside info. In watching the trailer on something other than my phone, thats a lot of detail put into Chrom for him to have been *just* a final smash from conception.

On the other hand, every other character named in the leak is playable. And rationalizing the leak being debunked just for hopes of Shulk is grasping at straws. Today's reveal puts us at 11 newcomers, short of Melee at 14 and Brawl at 16. I would have to think there is at least 2-3 more unannounced newcomers.

Also, whats up with the "?!" in Lucina's freeze-frame entrance shot? That just seemed weird to me.

Pic of the day. Along with Robin, Lucina joins the battle!! Her physical ablilites are identical to Marth's--it must be in her D.N.A. However, where Marth's power is concentrated in the tip of the sword, Lucina's attack strength is balanced throughout the weapon, which might make her easier to control. She's also a little bit shorter than Marth

So much for no more clones, most disappointed reveal (minus return of Captain Falcon)

With the Wii Fit Trainers, the male and female Robins, the Villagers, and Little Mac, varying their appearances and voices works just like selecting alternate color variations. However, whenever there is even a small difference in abilities, that character gets an actual roster slot. That is why you can select Lucina individually.

Guess it was easy to make with Marth's existence so it wouldn't really take up a slot.

Yeah I'm a bit disappointed with the news too. You'd think they'd try to do something new with Lucina considering she has the potential (High Lord class and spears). Instead they made her Marth for beginners it seems.

Same. I quit around the time I recruited Lucina and I'm already ridiculously overpowered. Sumia is actually stronger than Chrom on my game since I wanted Lucina to inherit Galeforce.
