    On the Ridley talk, I'm just going to base this solely on them taking the time to have Shulk's reveal include the Masked Mechon coming up on him at the end. While the viewer doesn't specifically see him, anyone who played Xenoblade should recognize the voice. So, I'm inclined to think one of the modes, perhaps All Star, will have the characters encountering various bosses from each game as they go, which should naturally include an encounter with Ridley since there's not much else iconic to pull from the Metroid universe other than Kraid and Mother Brain.

    So, something fun to consider might be just who all would show up via a game and their character representation.
    Mario/Luigi/Peach/Bowser : Koopa Kids, Big Boo, ??? (Possibly something from SMRPG)
    Link/Zelda/Shiek/Gannon : Darknut, one-eye spider boss, Gannon's wizard form from LttP, ???
    Sonic : Robotnik, Mecha Sonic, Knuckles, ???
    Mega Man : Some Wily machination, Proto Man, Cyclops, ???
    Samus/ZSS : Ridley, Kraid, Mother Brain, a Metroid (possibly one that evolves drawing from II), ???
    Icarus/Palutena : Eggplant Wizard, ???
    Donkey/Diddy Kong : ??? (Never really followed this franchise)
    Little Mac : King Hippo, ??? (lolTyson)
    Kirby/Dedede/Metaknight : ???
    Marth/Ike/Robin : ???
    Pokeymanz : Team Rocket and Meowth
    Shulk : Masked Mechon, Egil, Telethia, Zanza

    ...and more I'm forgetting or really couldn't think of, anyway. Like the Miis and Trainer. Still, could be a pretty beefy marathon mode if that's the intent.

    Just because a character receives some nerfs doesn't actually make them weaker overall when we're talking about major version changes. Cammy/Fei Long get nerfed in almost every itineration of SF4, and still usually end up being better then they were before because of overall changes to the game.

    Ike was already pretty low tier, if anything he should've been left alone or gotten a bit stronger but you're right that we don't know fully yet. He could be stronger due to overall changes but it seems like a lot of nerfs for someone who definitely didn't need them. And weren't Cammy/Fei already really good regardless? I can't remember if Fei was always as strong as he was in...I forget Arcade? But either way Ike wasn't really on their level. Marth nerfs are more on that level (Marth been getting nerfed since Melee lol).

    Point is that can't make assumptions about changes to an individual character when we're talking about an entirely new game.

    In regards to Fei/Cammy, they started off OK but have pretty steadily climbed up the the tier charts over the various versions. They're not kings of the hill atm solely because of how stupid Yun is, but they still pretty consistently get changelogs of nothing but nerfs and still end up better then before in the grand scheme of things.

    I dunno if that's good balancing or bad, but usually Smash nerfs have a pretty straightforward effect. Considering everything there I can't imagine Ike having an unexpected boost (but there are likely there are things we just don't know).

    Either way, from the sounds of it Shulk will keep my interest in a sword guy so looking forward to that.

    I'm trading Ike for Shulk myself. Hopefully his recovery isn't truly as nearly as terrible as it's sounding at the moment. Ike's recovery isn't good, but it is much better than people originally thought it to be around release, so there's always some hope.

    Shulk does seem interesting but i'll have to find my 'speed'

    i've always been the player that plays more on defense, and try to take chances with the opportunity given to me

    So on another subject that people don't speak alot Amiibo


    1) Do you think they will be a good training partner?
    2) What are you general thoughs about them


    1) On my side I think they could be good partner, but they will never be better then a human for practice purpose.
    2) I might get some but i'll have to see how many you can import at the same time and could be fun i guess

    Yeah but that assist in the background is throwing something at Marth. Might be giving a buff to next knockback or something.

    Edit: nah, looks like food.

    Barrel/item knockback was always kinda weird. 35% is pretty high regardless, and the KB is crazy. Bet it was changed. That video was from E3 build I believe.
