Reggie and the marketing team is amazing lol
Continued postings of hype here.
Just watched the videos that Chibo posted on his youtubes (Clash Tournaments) from the tournament he ran over the weekend. Looks like Brawl skill transfers over marvelously but still enough changes that it's fresh. I can't fucking wait to have portable Ike right now.
Got my email from Amazon this morning that my expected delivery date is Oct 3. Was expecting to get it the following Monday.
Psyched.
Be forewarned your disgusting activities are being monitored.
The hell does that mean?
Anyway: that feel when you are playing PM offline and realize the Wifi Safe set has buffering and the offline doesn't.
Is it local wireless the only way to do multiplayer in the demo?
Yes
Out of the characters that are unlocked, Pikachu at level 9 is the only one that puts up a fight. I don't know if its because he has good AI or every item drops in his immediate vicinity. Seriously.
This game feels so fucking wrong on a standard controller layout. I need my giant Gamecube A button.![]()
Procontroller?
The controls felt alright to me but that's probably because I haven't played Brawl or Melee in a good while now. Only thing I noticed was I kept hitting Y instead of B when trying to use specials. Wasn't noticeably weird or hard to do smash attacks with the circle pad and A but I never really relied on the C stick to begin with.
I downloaded the demo a few hours ago, and it took me a little while to get used to it as well. I didn't like not having the option to turn off hitting up to jump, and the shoulder buttons seemed like they were switched around from what I remember; I was used to using L on the Gamecube controller for shield/dodging and Z for throws.
None of the CPU AI fights very well. Get them offstage, notice the trajectory the CPU always uses to get back, and abuse the hell out of it (Mario spikes, Rock spikes, Link spikes, Pika thunder somewhat can spike, Villager can spike, so do it). Throw Jabs, wait for the roll to behind you, pivot, and punish the roll. Etc.
Play on the Omega version of BF on the demo and you'll be able to track the CPU habits a little better because of less item BS going on.
AI in the full game might be better though.
Also, I'm a fellow "I press L to shield" guy. I feel your pain.
lets hope we can remap in ther full version
You can remap all of the buttons in the 3DS version, including no jump using the stick.
e: as far as I can figure out though you just can move around he 6 commands: attack, special, grab, shield, jump x2 (ie couldnt use both shoulder buttons for shield)
Just tried the demo. I'm loving Mega Man, but this game feels so wrong without a C-Stick
The lack of a different neutral air or forward tilt limit his options even further than he has already. His projectiles can be used against him (Leaf Shield borderline useless outside of grabbing, which is a shame because I was originally excited about it) but his Smash has quite some power and that up air is op stuff lol, different ways to finish off people like back air, up air, down smash, forward smash. Up smash and up tilt are alright but don't seem as powerful as the previously mentioned to finish off with. Rush recovery is high but he seems to move forward slowly to me so some recoveries can fail if too far horizontally.
He feels better than the previous demo at the Best Buy event but still seems like he may be in the lower tiers as his play style can be countered fairly hard by some characters known already
Nonetheless, still an interesting style to play with. I have not seen his custom moves used in real play yet to see if that can aid him (anything will be better than Leaf Shield @_@)
