It looks like they took some good aspects from Shadow of Mordor and Batman and put it in here. This looks like 10 times better than I expected

Christ, the cans are out (that's my hand in the pic), but the code entering has yet to go live. ._.

I want this to be good so bad but I'm waiting for reviews
Avalanche Studios have been the guys making it (Just Cause series) which is a good sign.
There have been plenty of streams showing off the game and it definitely look like it'll be good at the very least. The big thing to note about the game is that it's very heavy on the car gameplay like 50% of it, if you don't think you'd enjoy that then there goes a big chunk of the game.
The open world is what you would expect from the people who made Just Cause 2, it's huge and there are a ton of activities to do and strongholds to capture, you can actually go off the map and the game will generate endless wasteland with dangerous hazards that will likely kill you. The combat is batman styled but you don't fly off to enemies like you do in batman games also max has a very brutal fighting style, it's more challenging, has more strategy, and also features a rage mechanic. You can use your shotgun but sparingly because ammo is very limited, there is also a sniper rifle to use. Customization is pretty heavy, if you've watched any videos then you already know the car is extremely customizable, max can also change his beard and the individual pieces of clothes he is wearing for stat bonuses. There's probably a lot more but I didn't want to spoil too much of the game from watching videos/streams.
The story of the game ties in with the rest of the Mad Max series and I believe it takes place a bit before the new movie so if you missed any of the movies now would be a very good time to watch them. I can't be sure on the length of the game but a dev commented that they were 30 hours in for the halfway point of the games story but I'm sure that accounts for the time they spend doing side activities in the wasteland. Overall I'm pretty excited.
The map size is "limitless." There are no borders, you can just keep on driving into The Big Nothing and will never hit a border. Also, if it matters to anyone, the game will be 1080p on both consoles.

is it a bad sign that there are no reviews out there yet?
WB is the publisher. They've been really bad with getting review copies to the media this year and have pretty restrictive NDA's.
cool cuz i really want this game to be great so that i can buy it in 3 years for 6 bucks
Reviews are out and it's extremely mixed, I'm hearing a lot of bad things about polygon reviews in general now. Overall if you're a mad max fan and accept the 60/40% split of car/on land gameplay you'll love it. The story takes 40 hours to complete on average although the plot kind of pops in and out but generally everyone agree it has a incredibly strong ending. When you finish the game you can still continue to play and if you just did the story related areas then there will still probably be 60% of the map to complete.
WB sent to review copies to around 10 reviewers, everyone else has to get it on their own.
Not surprised to hear theres loads of generic side quests and that generally won't bother me if it gives me an opportunity to uprade the character, car, or weapons.
Loving the car, it's such a rush driving the magnum opus around the wasteland and battling caravans, it's just like the movies. Avalanche has done a amazing job with the map and capturing the wasteland feel. I wasn't expecting it to be as immersive as it is. The wasteland is dangerous and crazy and the sound is probably the best I've ever heard from a game
1.03 update now out
Easily one of my favorite games of the year and yea the story definitely didn't disappoint. Hope I can platinum this before tales of zestiria releases. Sucks this is so badly overlooked because it released the same day as MGSV.General Updates for All Platforms:
Added optional “Vehicle roll” setting for more realistic in-air car physics.
General performance improvements.
Improved data streaming, enabling content to load faster and easier.
Improved auto-aim target prioritization.
Fixed various audio issues.
Made various GUI fixes and improvements.
Fixed several instances of the map not loading correctly.
Made various mission flow fixes and improvements. This includes retroactively resolving a conditional mission flow blocker that was happening to some players trying to install the Baby Bars during the Wasteland Classic mission after the mission flow had been interrupted.
PC fixes:
Win64 Specific Updates:
Fixed instances of graphics options resetting to default upon the game loading for some users.
Fixed an issue which caused the Harpoon to not work correctly on triple monitor setups, and with larger aspect ratios.
Fixed several keyboard entry issues with the WBPlay Menu screen.
Made several Mouse & Keyboard Control improvements and fixes.
