Any idea if race is important ,notice elves have highest int or maybe the Galka things , know its not really important in beta but later on when I roll a main would like to get the right race this time! The elvaaan Blm was hard work in xi

Race determines starting stats. Not sure how big of a deal it's going to be in the long run.
for now, you can't. that's another quirk that bugs me but i'm assuming it'll be ironed out prior to retail.
next best is that ctrl+a works for select-all while you're still active in text entry, so you can at least delete everything with a couple of quick keystrokes instead of having to hold backspace.
Is there anyway to make KB function like XI? Like having numpad always be foward movement in a direction, ect.
just mess with the key bindings
Trying to get into a story instance is hell.
Holding the L bumper and the tapping a face button will change your targetting filter (you can customize them in settings and which one to which button) its actually really fluid for Fates and what not, I have the regular default filter, enemies only, enemies and party members only and PC only.
That lv17 mission is just awesome, the game was actually getting boring already for me,.... until I played that mission.
Bubbling Bernie actually kicked my ass as there was only 3 of us when he popped and I was tanking on Pug with no healer.
Redid the level 17 mission @ lvl 15 this time and brought an antidote and won, cool story stuff going on already I am enjoying it.
I won't lie I'm pretty happy about all the XI imports I've seen. Gigas, Genbus, Pugils, Mandies, crabs, mamool ja, and probably a ton of other ones I haven't seen yet.
Why did you assume that? I was referring to the guy who posted an NDA breaking video demonstrating lag. I don't know about you but I expect issues on day 1.
The game was running very smooth for me however, no visible lag but I didn't go looking for it. As long as it doesn't hinder my gameplay or enjoyment like in V1 why worry? I'm in the UK on NA/EU data center so got a higher ping than people in NA.
Simurgh! Ahhh the memories
Also, I still can't figure out where that skill quest is for the shield lob, nor how the hell I can move the chat box a bit up and to the right on the PS3 version. >.<
All these funny quest names are giving me the giggles
Yoshi blew up a dam that was holding back a torrent of ff feels.
The mission where you leave visit the other cities felt like Cecil and Kain leaving Baron.
I've been trying all goddamn night. Due to the way menus and targeting work now, you can't get a comfortable XI/1.0 setup. Keybinding can get you basic functionality like Numpad locomotion and arrow key/IJKL camera control, but everything else is wonky or restrictive.
For example, I have jump set to Num1 because I use spacebar for chat. I can't use Enter for chat because I need Enter for confirm, and I can't use direct chat (XI mode) because I need letters for camera control. As for the arrow keys, I have to bind those to menu navigation, but that particular set of keybinds doubles as cycling the target reticule when no menu is open. This would be all well and good, except the reticule is the circular sub-target, not the floating arrow main target. You can only cycle the main target using the default Tab key, restricted to enemies, or directly target the nearest thing using the default F-keys.
In short, keyboard gives you gamepad functionality plus shortcuts. They really ought to make it more intelligent--starting with the arrow keys, which I already posted in the UI feedback forum.
Guildhest are really fun. Interesting objectives plus you get a ton of exp and gil on first try.
