lol when that damn Captain kept running I was sort of expecting something to happen to him. Didn't expect that giant fish to attack him though!

Also, this is starting to feel just like XI from the standpoint of not being able to do SHIT unless you have a WHM that just so happens to be strolling there looking for a party to do the mission with you too. I moved on to the next dungeon in the story, and same thing again... no WHM, everybody just sits around and waits. -__-

No words can describe the feeling of relief I had when i checked my retainer and found all my hard earned materia and synth materials from 1.0 safe and sound in my retainer.

Just did the first dungeon as PUG, was pretty cool, easy run had Mrd/Pug/Thm/CNj. I had to turn everyone elses animations off couldnt see shit with the parties on.

No likey BLM. They changed Blizzard to an AoE bind that does no damage, and the Thunder III DoT does more damage than the spell does. Level 50 ability is now a blink with a cast time that ice skates you to the targeted party member (3M CD). Going to be one boring ass class.

Haven't gotten to far. I'm around level 17 playing a pugilist like many others I suspect. Did all the leves I could.

It was a little hectic at first. So many mobs were popping and everyone was just running around killing things. After 1 or 2 I got the hang of them.

Got a group for the first 2 guildhests. The second one against the iron giant looking guy was cool. My party had me tank. Thank god for potions in this game being useful. Too many times I dipped below a reasonable about of hp before I had a cure thrown my way.

Was about to do my lv 15 class quest but my internet connection followed by my hd cable deciding to no longer work stopped me from trying.

All in all the people haven't been so bad. I feel like most are just mashing enter to get through the text because the amount of shouts I see for quest confusion is amazing. Even if you get lost just highlight the quest and click the map button . It at least gives you the general area of where to go lol.

Need to nip it now, it's PGL not PUG. I keep thinking pick-up groups when pug is mentioned.

Still at work but when doing class quests, do you have to be on the class or can you do it as the job as well?

So BRD songs now work like EQ: no fixed duration, continual MP drain, only active within range of caster.

Foe Requiem (reduce enemy elemental resistances) is interesting; turn it on and you can simply collect every enemy you run by. Doesn't claim, though.

I'm not a fan of the new target features

Back in 1.0 you could press run + a directional arrow to switch between Party Friendly All or Ennemies

Now you need to go in the menu and choose when weapon is drawn or not

Which has 2 problems imo

1) If you switch alot between jobs it's annoying to go switch it there
2) When you try to do Healing + DMG dealing WHM it'S kinda annoying to target everybody with the controller (back then was run + X then cure, run + O then Nuke

Might be complainint for nothing but still

Can put stance on hotbar and you can turn on target fliters in settings and switch between very much like 1.0.

That sounds rather interesting. I never had a strong interest in BRD but I might have to check that out.

Not really since now you put your weapon on each action

So Nuke, stance, target, heal, stance and all is a bit worse imo

Didn't try but trying to be gamepad only like 1.0

Anyone else feel like Cure is way too low? At level 50 it's only doing 120-150 each cast on PLD and with a 3.7k health pool that's not really worth the time or mp.

Cure is terrible unless you're on a DoM. Not that it's much better on THM <.<

Really enjoying DRG so far. I thought I'd like WAR too since it sounded like WoW's blood DK but I don't really enjoy the Wrath mechanic

Yeah and sadly that nips one of PLD's two self-heals. Warrior is shaping up to have a ton of self healing at the expense of taking 25% more damage upfront so not sure how that's going to pan out in terms of balance.

2nd wind on warrior at 50 with the gld + 20% healing ability was curing for around 800-840.

That is now accomplished through the targeting buttons (Num4/Num6 or dpad left/right by default).

Effectively, Num6 is Tab and Num4 is Shift+Tab.

Are npcs with crafting materials lvl 15/20+ gone for good? At first I thought I was (not) seeing things but then I went to all usual spots in gridania's aetheryte camps and they are gone. Smithing/armourer Leves 15+ require materials that can`t be bought and not like many people craft...
