Does /targetmode a/b/c still work?



That sounds rather interesting. I never had a strong interest in BRD but I might have to check that out.

I'm not a fan of the new target features

Back in 1.0 you could press run + a directional arrow to switch between Party Friendly All or Ennemies

Now you need to go in the menu and choose when weapon is drawn or not

Which has 2 problems imo

1) If you switch alot between jobs it's annoying to go switch it there
2) When you try to do Healing + DMG dealing WHM it'S kinda annoying to target everybody with the controller (back then was run + X then cure, run + O then Nuke

Might be complainint for nothing but still

Can still do that. Just need to toggle it from the filter tab under config. window.

Edit: Maybe you did that and still didn't like it? Not sure if I fully understood you.

Ok i'll try to rexplain a lil better.

What I liked with 1.0 targeting, is that there was 4 options to target : Friedly, Party, All or Ennemies (this is still there)

But in 1.0 You could change the target options with (The auto run button) + one of the button triangle, Circle Square X (This is on the gamepad) So exemple Auto run + X set the filter to Friendly while Auto run + Circle did Ennemies which removed the usefulness of the keyboard (exept for chatting)

In 2.0 you cannot do that anymore from the controller You have to go set it manually in the Menu filter Tab You have to set an option when your weapon is drawn and when it's not drawn

Which imo limits what you can do

So what i have to do atm is set Weapon drawn Party, weapon not drawn ennemies (as WHM) So that i do Nuke a mob, target a pt member heal, use the stance macro nuke and all,

Which imo is completly not productive at all.

But guess i'll find other options when i try it more

I'm not at home so can't check, but didn't they bring back all the text commands from FFXI? Could just macro cures with <st> <stpt> etc, no?

Since no one in game was helpful. How do I got about using an inn in a city? Do I need to do a certain amount of story quests or what?

Yeah, you need to reach a certain point in the story to use the inn.

I get the stance point, BUT you can still select which fliter you want to have on the same way as 1.0, if you are using a controller hold down the auto run button (LB on xbox pad) and use the face buttons A/B/X/Y to switch from ALL/Enemies/Party/etc.

Unless I am also not understanding you.

this feels alot like a console rpg in the vein of dragons dogma, they did a really good job optimizing this. graphics are gorgeous

Been doing some preliminary testing on limit breaks amongst ourselves, and we're pretty sure that they're properly affected by flat damage buffs like Blood for Blood, Greased Lightning, Heavy Thrust, and Twin Snakes, but any contributing datapoints would be greatly appreciated. I spent a large part of the day running the dungeons multiple times to get people caught up on the main story quest so we could test Ifrit, but now that we have a lot of people there, I'm exhausted, haha.

The process of reclaiming items from the NPC is hella cumbersome. Select All option please. Had to plug in my controller to make it less annoying to do.

Anyone else able to get into Thousand Maws? My group keeps trying to enter but we get "Registration Failed" followed by our characters getting stuck for like a minute or two until it tell us "A system error occurred during event movement."

is there no way to tab cycle between other players? i have my target filter (weapon unsheathed) set to all, and i'm still only able to go between enemies.

That is now accomplished through the targeting buttons (Num4/Num6 or dpad left/right by default).

Effectively, Num6 is Tab and Num4 is Shift+Tab.

Trying to setup ps3 controller for my wife using scarlet crush drivers, everything installed fine and testing the gamepad and it works. When i open FFXIV it does not respond at all and only gamepad listed in settings is the xbox 360 controller. It's unplugged of course, I tried disabling the 360 controller and it just gave me no device found in settings. Do I need to completely uninstall the 360 controller and drivers to get FFXIV to see the PS3 controller? Halp!

I always had issues installing Motion Joy. Going to to let her use a Xbox controller tonight and then mess with it tomorrow. Hoping just uninstalling the xbox drivers will fix it.

Pretty straight forward for me

Install Motionjoy
Plug PS3 remote
Install Driver (from motion joy)
Click enable
Profit
