Beta 3 impressions and general discussion

Be faster, to spam run instances, then exp camps though. Since the exp from dungeon mobs are noticeably higher (can exp chain), you get geared, you get money from chests.

I did Haku manor from like 28-29 -> 35 in a day almost (fell asleep did 22->34 in a day)

Where is the manor located? tried to find it yesterday before i went to bed

Seriously though, what were they expecting? It's a reboot.

I need to figure out what server the majority of Beta forum users are going to and avoid it. It's like they legitimately want an immersion so full that an in-game crucifixion, would cause you to experience a real-life crucifixion. I can't even make sense of it.

I agree, but you still have so many XI-purists that cannot grasp those concepts, and look for any way to cling to what's comfortable and what they know and understand.

I'm currently looking at either gilgamesh(sp) or cactaur myself. Wondering which will have a better population atm, as that will be important for the long run you could say...!

I also love dungeon running, I personally don't have a worry about leveling other jobs. Just thought I'd point out what I thought people missed but now Gulkeeva mentions it, dungeon crawling is so much better.

I did mines like 3 times (1 failed run, 1 successful, and the other because I was bored). I find them fun, but CM didn't give me even half a level of exp through a run I don't think.

Do you guys find the Hunting Logs worth doing? I was almost 20 by the time I noticed I missed a couple level 8 mobs, so I didn't get any credits for the 11-19 mobs.

It seems like a good concept, but I dunno if I'd want to take a break from quests just to go around and hunt down these guys if they're in the other zones.

Its... very very good exp

Example
Hakke manor has like 3 sets of mob kills, each completion is about 6,000exp (this is on top of the about 1/2 an exp bar you can get at Lv 29), and when you complete a log (guessing) its 16,000 exp (rank 3 i think or was it 2...)

Starting fresh...! A basically whole new game, requires a whole new start imo...! Only thing I will miss (and hope we get on release!) is swimsuits....!

I have a level 50 archer, 45 conj, 30+ THM, 30+ pug and I'm starting over too. The entire experience leveling all those classes in 1.0 was ZERO fun, plus everythings new so I want to experience it. Also playing on a legacy server with people who played from the beginning would be a huge drag(also scared of the people who did play when the game was that bad..).

My Legacy, which i forgot I had, Is like a level ~20 PUG, Not much on him just fiddled around with the game back then... Got the Swimsuit though and all my crap is Weathered. Might Transfer it, or just keep it on the legacy for the hell of it, IDK yet.

a) Is it gonna be random aka you register for Deepcroft and Server auto puts you with people
b) Is it gonna be more like Someone make a 'Party' saying i want 1 PLD 1 CNJ 2 DD and then on the other site the seeker seeks for a pt and then see those who are available for his job

2) Are we gonna have to sit and wait at the dungeon or is it gonna be like Tera where you can go XP and when the PT is full it teleports you to the dungeon

Only time will tell!

idk about the first part, but I believe you flag up duty finder on the job you want to go in as, and then can change to anything else while you wait.

From my understanding, there is an optimal party set up for every duty. A tank, a healer and 2 DPS for a light party. WAR and PLD are considered tanks and when you queue up as one of those jobs you'd fill the tank role. You could do whatever you want after you queue up on the duty finder until you get teleported to the entrance. I think it was said that you must first visit the dungeon on your server so it doesn't count like a free tele.

That's pretty lame considering you do not need a tank to do any of the 3 starter dungeons.
