You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

btw, I am inter's wifey. I played the beta phase three this weekend on the comp he keeps talking about. I had zero lag issues even during overcrowded fates n' such.

This is an ss I posted to get an idea of how it looks on my end:

It looks really awesome. And as he said you can still install a graphics card if you want to upgrade it later on.

So I assume you guys had to buy a 2nd 4GB stick to go with it so you could run in dual channel. Or did yours come with 2?

We had to buy two sticks since we had no memory at all, and ya he ran dual channel. My old sticks wouldn't work in that mb.

hahaha, I'm basically the controller of the money, and when my comp died I told him he couldn't spend more than $300 to fix it. He hates when I do that, but I always trust him to find a way. >: ) (Had to buy power supply, memory, cpu, and mb to fix it.)

I know seriously, I did a ton of research before I decided to go the APU route mainly because it sounds very promising. I'm looking forward to the next gen 8 core, the same CPU they used in the PS4 and XBone. If they can keep the same price point as this generation it's going to be something to look forward.

Good job on the purchase actually has me looking at one for my son to use now. Have you tried running any other newer games on it like Tomb Raider or Bio Shock infinite?

Oh ya there was an exact review for that.

    http://www.legitreviews.com/article/2209/11/

I meant to link this review earlier. I believe the Intel they are comparing is the new one with their better integrated graphic. The numbers seem good for the Intel but the CPU cost 3x as much.

That's really not bad at all for an integrated GPU ... they've definitely come a long way with the latest generation. Good stuff...

I recently bought a A8 laptop and runs ARR at 15-30 fps for like $350. Though mobile versions of the processors are weaker than desktop of course so the desktop equivalent will be substantially stronger.

Oh ya having the fast ram and it being in dual channel effects the graphics a lot, just wanted to throw that in as well.

Edit: Something I found on Newegg with basically the same setup as my wife.

I'm in the same boat looking for a PC for ARR. Its been years since I've even looked at a desktop computer rather than understanding anything about building one or credibility of specs.

If the above linked computer runs ARR reliably, 415$ is completely reasonable.

    1) Looking at newegg, it doesnt come assembled correct? I wouldnt trust myself to go near the thing. How much does it generally cost to have some assemble the machine? I also have access to mechanical engineer interns at work so I might ask them.

    2) TV vs monitor. I have a 33'' Toshiba tv that's less than a year old. There's hardly going to be any noticeable difference between hooking up the TV and computer via HDMI?

    3) That build linked, is it all that would be needed to build the computer, or are there other components not mentioned in it (power supply cords etc)?

    Sorry for being dense

It doesn't come with an optical drive (discs) so you would need to get one of those. You would also probably want to buy an addition stick of matching memory with it so you can run it in dual channel. As far as cords I have no idea, I would hope it came with some but I honestly don't know.

Edit: Oh also it would need an operating system. So if you own a copy of Windows 7/8 you could use that, if not that is a pretty expensive thing to buy. I often forget not everyone has copies of those laying around.

    1. Ya you would need someone to put it together for you, it's honestly not too hard. Motherboard oddly come with some basic instruction off how to install. I know some stores will build it for you, I think it's like $50 or something at like Fry's. Speaking of Fry's if there is one remotely near you they price match online retail.

    2. I'm not good person to speak of the difference. Though there is a HDMI out.

    3. as Arximiro mentioned optical is missing and os. I think OEM disks of windows are still sub $100. As mentioned earlier, make sure you get 2 sticks of memory. Ex 2x 4gb, APUs are very reliant on memory and you need dual channel. That was a mishap on my side in my post. As for cords, all that would be missing I think would be whatever cord to connect to your screen, in your case HDMI.
