I will say one minor complaint.

I'm not really a fan of Zendaya as MJ. Not because of her skin color, or hair color, or actress or look. Those are all fine and actually things I liked a lot. However her character in this movie has a very "Fuck You" personality. Not to say I didn't enjoy her character, I did just not really something I've ever felt from MJ. I'm not against changing characters but for such a drastic change in personality why not just make her a new character?

Just came back from seeing it. Best Spider-Man film and portrayal by far. Writing and pacing were good, and Michael Keaton was fucking awesome.

The love arc with Peter crushing on Liz was kind of tangental for the film, but the segue into Toomes being her father was well-done. Captain America troll was awesome.

Pretty much this. In addition to the criticisms in the last few spoilered posts, this movie's Flash is weak af. Still, I liked it and would recommend despite these flaws.

It only felt slow for me leading up to the Washington Monument scene. Everything after that was great. Keaton answering the door had everyone's Jaws in the theater on the floor.

Holland really killed it with the death glare in the kitchen and the feeling of helplessness being trapped under the rubble. I knew he would be funny from Civil War,
but he was able to play the full range which was great.

Never thought they could make the Vulture look cool, but damn did he look cool. And that jacket was fucking dope.

Lots of fun moments but MJ was a great low-key character, wasn't really a fan of Liz, and Aunt May at the end gave me a good laugh. Vulture was a pretty good villain and I liked the post-credits scene for that reason. Honestly didn't see Tombs being Liz's dad coming.

Wish there had been more Shocker fighting though. He's my favourite B-list spidey villain.

Edit: Also hell yes Pepper Potts is back.

Watched this last night, was a great movie. Slow paced at first but worth the build up overall.
Only gripe was

Same as a few others I've read, the teenage angsty MJ, not a fan. May as well have been the teenage angsty Groot from GotG2 post credit scene.
Also not a fan of MJ not being a redhead. But that's more of a personal gripe cuz I love me some redheads.

I honestly did not see that coming. I was expecting Flash to open the door. That whole scene was tense as fuck and Holland/Keaton fucking nailed it.

Flash himself was probably the weakest flaw for me in the movie. Dude was just corny and didn't really translate as a "bully" to me more than he did "little bitch" lol. Don't know what the gripe is about the reimagining of MJ other than "er mah gawd she's not red headed and white!" I thought she was one of the better characters and exponentially more enjoyable than fecal alcohol syndrome Kirsten Dunst.

I see the complaining mostly being due to the character being absolutely nothing like any established version of her.

I don't see how you can be cool with MJ just being some snarky bitch who has nothing in common with the original flavor and in the same breath be critical of how Flash was portrayed.

I enjoyed the hell out of the movie, but outside of Ned (who was obviously just Ganke renamed) all the new or reimagined versions of the high schoolers were pretty weak
