Spider-Man: Homecoming (July 7, 2017)

Only one problem I had with the movie.

Midway through the credits, Sony misspelled "conversion" as "converstion".

Principal Morita at Peter's school is a descendant (possibly grandson?) of Jim Morita, one of Capn's Howling Commandoes, and is even played by the same actor.

It's decent. The action scenes are just acceptable, the plane scene in particular is a rough watch. Hated the suit being ironmanish. Humor was well done, loved the golf course scene. Raimi 1&2 blow this thing out of the water imo.

i liked it, definitely better than the other spodermenz. i enjoyed the low stakes of the film. didnt really buy the ending

when tony just says "ok u saved a plane full of my stuff welcome to the avengers, but they had to show him turn it down for character growth so it's fine

the action was also kind of odd, strangely shot and kind of awkward, but im sure that's what they were going for to show how inexperienced peter is

It's more likely they saw he wasn't going to stop getting involved, so why not bring him on board fully?

That's more fan desire than his. He was quoted as saying he'd heard rumors of them wanting him in the film, but his reaction was he hadn't been aware of that, and that it wouldn't work. In 2 seperate tweets he said "Sorry folks but this is news to me. It would be great but I don't think it will happen." and later "The films are already jam packed."

Netflix's Kingpin is waaaaaay beyond the PG-13 guidelines the MCU movies have been following.

Playing devil's advocate as I'm not sure the cameo would be right for the movie in any case, but

Kingpin doesn't need any connection to Spiderman to want to befriend someone who was as effective as Vulture.

That would have been great if they made it happen. Frankly it's needed since Kingpin is so heavily tied to both Spidey and Daredevil.

Went and saw this movie today and thought it was great. I'd probably say it was equal or better than Spiderman 2, which was my previous favorite, but really haven't seen that in a long time.

From early trailers, I was kind of worried that Tony Stark was going to be around way too much and take away from the movie, but I think he was used just the right amount. The Vulture reveal near the end of the movie was great, so much tension for such a long period of time after that.

The after credits scene was such a troll though.

Head Cannon here, but since one of the descendant's of the Howling Commando's was principal, I'm pretty sure he insisted on the keeping the Cap videos after Civil War in memory

The characters of this Spooderman made the movie. I didn't think Vulture could get pulled off right but they did it. A simple villain with a sympathetic bent to him. Didn't see the twist coming either.

Just the right mix of awkward teenage behavior to make the movie fun while making adults cringe as it should be.

I appreciate the small changes like Flash being an overachieving show-off rather than a vanilla bully and 'MJ' being a introverted snarker rather than generic love interest. For all the hooplah about young Aunt May, that too seems like a good choice that'll be developed in the inevitable sequels. So long as Sony can use the greater MCU, I think Spider-Man hasn't been in a better place since Raimi Spiderman 1.
