Wonder woman wasnt a good movie, it just wasnt a dumpster fire like all the other DC movies. The fight sequences were half dragonball, half focus on WW while the backround zooms out as she jumps really far away. The characters and villain were all forgettable. I havent seen Aquaman so I wont comment on that one.

Man the trench scene in WW was tight as shit. The scene where Diana sees all the wounded soldiers, and starts to both figuratively and literally cross a bridge into realizing the cost of the warfare she'd grown up idealizing? Plus General Buttercup.

I'd easily put WW on par with Aquaman.

I feel like the DC movies really should have started with Aquaman and WW just as we got them. Then do the Supes film, Batman going after him film, Cyborg, Flash, then the Justice League one where it all comes together.

But DC from the beginning just wanted that sweet integrated universe money and couldn't slow cook and they've fucked it all up now.

I remember reading somewhere that WB execs came decked out in freshly-bought comic apparel asking comic store regulars how much they'd love to see a DC universe and the regulars knew they weren't real fans.

This company is all sorts of clueless.

I liked WW up to the scene where they liberate the French village, I think it goes all to shit after that. The fish out of water routine was pretty cute, it brought a lot of charm to the movie and I think it perfectly utilized sub par actress like Gadot. I'm curious to see how next movie will work now that this shtick is done.

Agreed. The 3rd act smelled of Snyder all over it.

Thirding the WW thoughts. First 2/3 were good, but that last act was just all sorts of cringe. Aquaman was fun from start to finish. I'm just pissed the previews had 90% of the Black Manta scenes. Never saw Man of Steel, Justice League or the previous Superman film, so can't really comment on them outside of the fact they looked like shit.

I feel peoples opinion on WW depends largely on how well they were able to ignore the last bit. The rest was completely fine and a lot of the actions was pretty great.... and yes even the 3D was good and had one of the less terrible love interest side storylines (arguably even good). But holy fuck that last fight...

I think Aquamnan somewhat depended on the ability to kind of just turn your brain off and ignore the meandering plot. And Black Manta kind of felt like an unnecessary after thought distracting from the rest... but was also the much more interesting than the other bad guys

Plus that Wonder Woman theme gives it +1 point on any scale.
