It looks good. A small tweak to the fov would be useful but it's not bad at all out of the box.
You can see some images of it on wsgf.org if you're curious. A couple UI elements don't seem to have boxes you can move, but since the only one of concern is the quests where you have to give items, I'm not too worried about it.
Now, if you want to talk about playing this game in Nvidia 3d (surround or not)....There are some issues which would need an overhaul to fix.
Thanks for the reply. I did a generic google search and most/all of the pictures I found were old enough to be 1.0. With a completely new engine I was curious how it worked. Of course, with the new DX coming out soonish, it may be irrelevant...
What are your thoughts on eyefinity vs surround for ff14? Close enough that it doesn't matter?
Almost completely native. You can't set it in windowed mode, but it will use the full three monitor resolution in borderless windowed and full screen. No tweaks or messing with cfg files needed. I'd post some of my screenshots but I don't exactly know how the link rule goes, but the wsgf shows decently enough I think.
You'll need to move around the UI, of course, but so much screen real estate I basically have the hunting log and such up on one of the monitors to the side just to make it easy to track things I can't track while grinding.
I haven't used eyefinity for ff14, but I imagine it'd support it. There is a very noticeable performance hit with surround, mainly due to the client not using SLI yet (From ~150 fps on maximum at 1920x1080 to ~24 fps on maximum with 680 4gb OC).
DX11 usually means performance gains if programmed well, or about the same/worse if more stuff is added or is programmed poorly. Presumably there'll be an option to use 9 or 11 for whatever works best.
Do you know the timeframe on using SLI? I assume you have dual 680's, but that you're essentially running with only a single one due to lack of support?
I thought I read on release, but too lazy to go digging. And yes, I have dual 680s but only one is being used by the game. I could try messing with inspector to see if I could set an SLI profile that worked, but I'll wait until release or phase 4 do-nothing time to really mess around if there becomes a need to.
Here's some screenshots from this weekend in case anyone without beta access or a surround/eyefinity setup is curious. Just set the game to borderless windowed and dropped shadows down a little for higher fps:

That's sexy... Gonna do that in a couple months when launch hits.
Do you have any experience running an "accessory" monitor with Surround? I'm curious how the PC/Game/System handles clicking into the 4th screen. For instance, I know some games will completely minimize if you click somewhere outside of the game window itself. That would be bad. I've got a 24" dell 1920x1200 LCD that I like, but I'd plan on getting 3 new 24" thin-bezel displays to run Surround on.
Entirely depends on the game as it functions just like clicking outside of it. Borderless windowed with FFXIV makes it drop framerate when not the active window (There is a setting in-game to disable that though). Games that have the mouse locked such as most FPSes, will require you to tab out in order to interact with the accessory display.
Kind of wish I could use more than one accessory display, but ce la vie. Price of going with Nvidia I guess.
