Cracked Samsung Galaxy Rush Switcharoo

I have a Samsung Galaxy Rush with Boost mobile.
I just cracked it today and I don't have any insurance plans. I was wondering if I ordered a new one and told them it arrived with a cracked screen and shipped them my old one, would I be able to get a refund?

I don't really want to spend more money on a new phone. I don't use my phone that much. Which is why I bought the Rush for $100. Am I screwed? Any known phones that are cheap and better if I do have to buy a new one?
