Windows Controller Problems (XBCD Specific)
Ok BG, I'm about to punch a kitten. I had these drivers installed so my wife and I could play XI with 360 controllers. Now that we've started playing stuff that doesn't require them I decided to remove them and revert back to the normal Microsoft drivers to put everything to normal. Did the uninstall, no problems, everything appears fine. Boot up the XIV beta and I see it's recognizing the controller as XBCD 360 Controller. I'm not sure what's up so I deleted all the drivers, restart, plug it in and.......same thing. Download the drivers straight from MS website....same thing. I finally realized when I right click and go to game controller settings, this is where it's recognizing it as XBCD 360 Controller and nothing I can do will get rid of the fucker. I've tried everything I can think of and it flat out won't remove that shit and change it back to Controller (XBOX 360 for Windows). It wouldn't be an issue if the fucker would actually WORK, but it doesn't. It won't respond at all in XIV and it's annoying as piss.
So please BG, save me from this as my Google Fu is returning nothing and I'm about to go insane.

Just had a similar issue when switching from a 360 controller for XIV to scarlet crush drivers for a PS3 controller. It installed fine and worked outside XIV but XIV would only recognize the 360 controller. After trying the similar stuff you did i finally fixed it by unplugging the 360 controller, going to start menu > devices and printers> and uninstalling the 360 controller from there and restarting. If you didn't uninstall the device from in there check and see if it's still hanging around.

Ok so I've tried a few more things since you posted. I've tried uninstalling drivers manually. I've tried going to device manager and deleting everything out of there. I've tried installing the Scarlet Crush drivers. I did a registry search and removed all XBCD specific things I could find. Basically when I plug in a controller, once it installs all the drivers instead of showing up as a Controller (Xbox 360 for Windows) it shows up as XBCD Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller. For whatever reason, no matter what I do will it work in anything I've tried at all now. I've tried to reinstall XBCD and see if I could possible undo whatever as done; couldn't, and uninstalled again. Scarlet Crush drivers aren't working because when I plug in the DS3 it will do the XBCD thing and if I don't allow it to do that, the gamepad won't be recognized. All drivers are Microsoft drivers and signed by Microsoft specially so I don't know what the fuck is the issue. I literally can find nothing XBCD related left on my computer, but when the drivers install fresh, lo and behold it shows up as a god damn XBCD Controller. I even swapped mine and hers around (after figuring out why mine wasn't showing up) and of course hers works fine on my computer listing correctly, and on mine on hers does the same thing. At this point I would almost restore the whole fucking computer if weren't for the fact that I only have an OEM disc and I'm bad at the internet to do it any other way.
Any additional help would be great, because as it stands I can't use any controllers on her computer at all

Wow, that sounds like a pain in the ass, no more ideas atm but I wish you luck on getting it solved!

Finally fixed it. Had to do a much more thorough registry clean than I thought I had performed before. New issue now, but it's more relevant to XIV so I'm going to move there for faster response hopefully.
