I have a dumb question that for some reason I thought of in my head last night. I dunno every little in and out of the CBA and stuff, but I know there's the compensatory 1st round draft picks for signing RFAs if the original team doesn't match etc.
So what if Lou was like "Fuck it, Kovi retired, we lost Clarkson (Yeah, they signed Clowe, but just for the sake of arguement roll with this) and Parise last summer. With the new freed up money from Ilya gone, let's throw 5m a season at both Pietrangelo and Gagner as RFAs"
I realise Pietrangelo would be matched in a heartbeat, but can a team throw multiple offers at 2 RFAs?
Aside from the unwritten rule of being a douchebag GM, is there a rule against it?

Sorry for late reply; for RFAs, you can only sign the players if you have your own picks that would be compensation. You can not sign 2 players using the same picks. Also, Gagner is going to arbitration, which means he can no longer sign an offer sheet.

Oh, I know Gags is going to arbitration, I was just using him and Pietrangelo as examples was all. If it's only a 1 or 2 year contract, he'll be moved, sadly.
Makes me laugh how people here are still talking about a sign & trade thing with him, and all I can think is that RNH (Ryan Never Healthy... er Nugent-Hopkins) just had shoulder surgery and won't be ready to start the season. Assuming it's still made of glass when he returns, he'll either miss some time at the start of the season, or get re-injured trying to force an early comeback. Suppose they deal Gagner for a non-center, that would mean Boyd fucking Gordon is in the starting lineup. lollllll
