2013 NHL Off-Season Thread: Yo Luongo, I'mma let your trade talks finish, but Schneider had one of the best trades of ALL TIME.

Considering they did the exact same thing for the exact same reason when they won it 4 years ago, I'm sure those fans are used to it.

Daaaang. Hawks did what Hawks do today. Bolland got his payday, probably could've got more but that was a lot. Losing Frolik is harsh, he's a damn good shooter. And I really don't mind Bolland going, I knew he probably was going to go anyways. The only reason that I'm even slightly upset he's going to be gone is because he got the winning goal this year, lol.

I knew some trades were likely to happen but it still sucks. It's like.. "Hey Chicago. We just won the Stanley Cup! Now here's a kick in the nuts!"

The good news at least is that the core is the same. When they dismantled the team 4 years ago, I didn't think they had it in them to win the cup again anytime soon, and clearly I was wrong. I'm sure they'll be able to compete at a really high level still, they didn't lose nearly as many players this time around.

Versus this year where you're losing Bolland, Frolik, maybe Emery, who else so far? Handzuz? Stalberg? I think Emery will probably be the biggest loss for the team, but you still got Crawford and the cap space now to give him a contract extension.

People say Bolland is a big player on the team, but few people realize the guy barely played more then 10 minutes in game 6 and was on the 3rd or 4th line. Not the biggest loss for the Hawks at all, despite getting the SCGWG

Can someone explain why Schneider/Luongo was such a big deal but Crawford/Emery wasn't? I really would've liked having a combined system with those two like how Blackhawks did. Admittedly I don't know much about Emery/Crawford

lol so asian Bluefan; multiply those numbers by 5 and I might start to agree. And the late rounds are sometimes interesting; Poile drafted Rinne in the 9th round (doesn't exist anymore) and Hornqvist dead last overall at the end of the 7th.
