Roughly $250 million in damage to the city. A lot of Downtown will take a couple months to repair, my brother for example, he won't be able to work at his downtown location for 3 months (they have other locations he can go to luckily). But there is a ton of optimism in the air. The entire city is bonding together to fix everything and the amount of volunteerism is astounding. So Calgary is looking pretty good, even for the Stampede that is supposed to start soon.

Edit: The weather in Calgary has been ideal too I suppose. Hot, dry, sunny, like 30+ degrees Celsius

Other small towns in southern Alberta, not so much. High River for example has been pretty much completely wiped off the map. Those small towns are the ones that were hit the hardest. Calgary in comparison didn't suffer too much damage at all

More on Galiardi, he was born in Calgary, played for the Calgary Hitmen and Calgary Royals too. He's a RFA coming up this Friday, but I'm sure he'll sign a new contract. Probably $2~ mil or so I'd guess, but with the cap space Calgary has, I could see a terrible contract for like $3~4 mil too ._.

The Rangers have traded Christian Thomas to Montreal for Danny Kristo. Nick Kypreos first reported the deal and the Habs confirmed it on twitter.


Kristo was apparently one of the most lauded prospects in the habs system
