I was prepared to root for whatever team Iginla went to. Changed my mind.
Maybe they'll actually let Iginla play on the powerplay?
To summarize what the Flames have done today in 1 word: Nothing.
But that's a good nothing! No big splashes on big name UFA's for big and long and overpriced contracts, no unnecessary trades wherein we lose draft picks or prospects or etc. We signed a few of our RFA's, we signed Brian McGrattan to look after all of those young RFA's, and we're going into the year with $12~mil in capspace and 22 players on our roster. This season will be a full on rebuild season, giving our prospects and AHLers a few chances at the NHL level and seeing who is up to snuff and who needs more time in the minors. Along with a handful of veteran guys who aren't that old in their own right as well. Honestly, I'm stoked for this season! When we dumped Iggy and J-Bo last year and started cycling our rookies into the team, our gameplay was faster, had more effort and was overall just more entertaining. Who knows what kinda results we'll get next year, but it will be fun to watch
If we somehow make the playoffs, fantastic! And if we get massacred and have a high pick next year, fantastic! It's a win-win really
Was with a chick and we slept in till 1 PM. Missed everything. Looks like Canucks didn't do shit?
Anyone wanna give summary of the big signings?
FUCK they didn't re-sign Max LaPierre![]()
Why did Canucks create all this cap space if they weren't going to sign anyone?
Everyone realizes the Canucks are akin to the Titanic and don't want to board that ship?

What cap space?
Canucks traded away those players just to get under the cap, not to have a ton of room to sign UFAs. You're so fucking dumb its unbelievable, I'll give people on west coast a pass for not knowing a secondary east coast team like Carolina but its a fucking shame we gotta hold your hand and walk you through every issue surrounding your own fucking team.
Alfie messed up, Sens will be better then DET with Bobby Ryan now.
Caps have been quiet and I'm fine with that, as I expected it. The deals today are terrible. Hendricks is cool but 1.83m? nothx for a 3rd/4th line grinder. Just waiting on Alzner and MoJo to get re-signed.
SCHULTZ
Big Slow Physical guy who isn't physical at all and tries to play a finesse game but his hands are worse then his feet so he can't pass for shit either. GL with that.
Jets RW positions on 2nd and 3rd finally look half decent.
I really like the Rangers signings today. Nothing flashy, but exactly what we needed.
Also Dominic Moore <3
Also Al Montoya and Hank in the background lol
uh we have 5.7M in cap space right now after signing a couple of nobodies. I guess maybe they wanna use it to re-sign some players, but they sure haven't said anything about any of them. I'm just wondering what was the point of buying out Ballard or trading Schneider if we weren't gonna do anything with the cap space we got from it?
And why are you getting so mad that my hockey knowledge isn't as up to par as yours? I already said this is the first time I've ever paid attention to off-season hockey news. Of course I don't know stuff. If you don't feel like answering then maybe link me to some resources where I can learn about this stuff like OP.
It's not that you have $5.~mil to spend, it's that you guys have so few players signed that despite that capspace, you can't make any significant signings without going into the season with your roster so short handed.
The Canucks either have to move more big name players and contracts, or sign rookies, cast-aways, ReddenGomezes, to just purely fill out the roster.
Like I said, fucking at least read about your own team, I get you're new. I don't care if you don't know much about Columbus or Florida or Winnipeg. But for jesus christ's sake read the damn article. You have 5.7 M Cap room AND ONLY 18 PLAYERS SIGNED. You need 23 players. 14 Forwards, 7 Defensemen, 2 goalies. 12 Forwards play, 6 D men play, 2 goalies play each night. 3 are backups for injury, etc. You have to make the remaining 5 players signed average 1.1 apiece. Aka you only sign shitty fringe, barely-in-the-league bottom line guys from here on out. You were THAT. FUCKED. with the salary cap that even after clearing out those contracts you're still in this predicament.
He just feels threatened that a new type of challenger appeared for everyone else here to laug...I mean, have a good time with.
Spoiler: show
aka your GM should be fired.
