Deadline of July 2, apparently the CoG will hold a vote on that date on the deal offered by RSE. In other news RSE and Hulsizer have broken off negotiations, which means he $45m he had in the deal is in jeopardy.

The NHL is essentially threatening the CoG saying "this is the (shitty for you) deal, take it or the team is gone."

I feel like the deal will be accepted and it will fall apart when RSE is unable to produce the money. This shit is never going to end.

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have acquired right wing David Jones and defenceman Shane O’Brien from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for left wing Alex Tanguay and defenceman Cory Sarich.

“This trade adds needed size up front and grit on the back end while also allowing us to get younger.” said Flames General Manager Jay Feaster. “We like the fact that Jones plays a north-south game, drives hard to the net, kills penalties and is a right hand shot. O’Brien is a hard guy to play against, knows how to get under the skin of the opposition and stands up for his teammates. We are pleased to add both of these players to our organization.”

Jones, a native of Guelph, Ontario, has spent six seasons with the Avalanche accumulating 70 goals and 56 assists for 126 points and 84 penalty minutes in 272 games. In his last season at Dartmouth College, Jones was a Hobey Baker finalist and named as the Ivy League Player-of-the-Year.
