I'm going Hyperion server as well because that's where most of my old school Valefor buddies are going. But, it's been a lonnnng time since I've been really into a MMO and even with all the improvements with ARR I doubt it will hold my interest for too long, but I guess you never know.

Definitely would be nice to run into some hockey peeps that'll be on there as well.

I enjoyed the beta this weekend, and I'll ask this here to avoid sounding dumb in the other threads: does the regular kinda questing die off at 15? After visiting cities etc I wasn't sure if I could go anywhere to just quest. (not leve / dungeons etc.)

Most of the people I knew from Cait Sith in FFXI are going to Excalibur so my main character will be there but I'll join hyperion for a social hackey linkshell.

Pretty much this. I work 40+ hours now and have commitments beyond work as well, unlike when I was deep into FFXI and younger. Combine that with immediately after ARR you have NHL14 (September 10th), Battlefield 4, PS4, and re-release of FFX/FFX-2 HD all within 3 months it will probably be pretty hard for FFXIV to get any depth of addiction to set in. I will probably casually play it 5 hours a week tops once NHL14 comes out followed by the other games.

((For what its worth Parks and Rec also restarts in the Fall, so another half hour of leisure time goes out the gaming window each week))

At least he put "hackers" in quotes, I mean, it's not like it's Twitter's fault he picked an easily-guessable password like "longhornsindabutt".

#MULLETWATCH still lives on! Vanek is the last big move I could see happening after Jagr figures things out. Almost positive the Preds are 100% done assembling their army of 3rd/4th liners for battle. I don't think we've had a forward in the top 90 in points in the NHL for like 2-3 seasons; that's just crazy.

And XIV ARR does not even remotely resemble the timesink of XI. Duty finder, FATEs, teleportation / ease of transportation, short ~30 minute dungeon runs, etc. all make it extremely easy to play for an hour and still accomplish some real progression. I work ~70+ hours a week (at work now), party my face off, travel to faroff lands of booze and women and skiing several times a year, and still managed to get 2x LV 50 jobs and do some cool stuff in 1.0. 2.0 is even easier. And done with XIV talk before Brill canes me. It's just annoying to try to rally BG hackey people via PM because of the 5 person PM limit.
