Just got out of it. Wasn’t aa hyped as for most other Marvel films, but it definitely delivered. Especially Boseman and Jordan’s acting was really top notch. Also, since I always do it: can confirm there is a scene after the entire credits.

Just got back. Solid 8.5/10. Maybe I bought into the hype a little bit too much but it was still an excellent movie nonetheless.

PROS
- Loved the five tribe lore.
- Amazing acting all around. Arguably the best cast in the entire MCU. Everyone nailed their role and you end up caring for pretty much all the characters in their own ways.
- Michonne putting in WORK!
- The story presents a believable dilemma from both sides, open up to the world or remain isolated. Watch others suffer when you know you have the technology to prevent it, or ensure the survival of your own people by turning a blind eye to it all.
- Bad ass blend of future technology and traditional tribal garment/weapons.
- Boseman was amazing in portraying the sense of conflict within himself on what to do.
- Michael B. Jordan fucking killed it too. I legit got teary-eyed during the final scene where he begins to explain how his father promised to take him to Wakanda.

CONS
- GOD DAMN IT DISNEY!!! Stop killing off bad ass enemies. You finally figured out how to make meaningful antagonists i.e. Ego, Hela, Vulture, Claw, Killmonger, only to kill most of them off immediately.
- T'Challa's father is kind of a huge dick for abandoning Killmonger as a child with little to no reason to do so. "I did it for Wakanda." Huh? The child knew nothing really of Wakanda to pose a threat. It was a fucking 8~11 year old boy lol.
- What exactly was the working agreement between Claw and Killmonger?
- The fight scenes seemed to be rather routine. Nothing really that stood out.
- I wish we could've seen more of the inside city of Wakanda. The amazing cinematography of all the aerial shots left a lot to be desired of the inner city itself.
- The theme of Wakanda having the capability of reversing hundreds of years of oppression from the white man got a little heavy handed at times.

That after credits scene though lol.

Saw it yesterday and supporting characters knocked it out of the park. The slow start is the best part of this film. It's the first MCU movie that felt like it took some time with establishing shots, letting a scene rest and showing you the importance of something. It felt like it was building the world in a meaningful way.

This is basically how I felt.

The "Marvel" parts of the movie were the absolute weakest parts of it, everything else was really well done. Some of the fights and chase scenes (and humour) are the normal Marvel shit.

I also feel like the bad guy making the main (actual valid) points undermines them a lot, but everyone was affected by his actions in the movie so maybe it evens out.

People laughed way to much at the weak/stupid jabs to white people. We get it, white people can be dicks, can you make more of an actual point though?

I mean...yeah, you can watch anything it's not like some black pride shit...I mean when I saw it every single black person in the country seemed to be there too but otherwise it was fine. If anything, I'd wait a while so you don't get a viewing with a jackass audience.

Of course you can be white and watch this, lol. Black Panther is beloved by everyone.

Being black however, I can honestly say I have never seen so many black people at a movie theater at any given time ever for a single movie since the original Mortal Kombat, lol. People even came out dressed in African attire and everything.

The movie and experience was glorious and I wouldn't trade it for anything. As a Marvel movie it was in and of itself a technical marvel (har har) with many beautiful shots and scenes and we'll done CGI and practical effects. It also did the James Bond thing very well without being overly campy. Even more so the movie touched on many political subjects surrounding Africans and African-Americans. The entire last scene was a political dig at our President Trump even. Have to say I was very proud in general to see my culture well represented in various ways.

10/10 easy for me.

The supporting cast made this movie. I actually think Chadwick had the weakest performance of the entire main cast. None of his lines felt all that memorable to me but everyone else had some good to great moments. An Okoye/Shuri follow up would be litty 2 titty.

I actually like MBJ a lot in this movie. I didn't think he could fit a villain role but he did it in the most MBJ way possible where he's just so easy to root for.

If you're on the fence, just watch it and form your own opinion. I don't think it's THE BEST EVER but it's definitely top tier.

Damn, couldn’t have said it better myself. Perfectly sums up my pros and cons.

I was surprised the number of people who dressed in African garb. There were some women in full accessories looking like warrior princesses. It was beautiful. I loved seeing my people out in groves celebrating this. Might be insignificant to the majority, but representation is important. Yes, even in fictional movies.

Michael B. Jordon was great. I loved how distinctly different he was because he didn’t grow up in Wakanda. He was straight Oakland and he remained that way through the whole movie. I gotta get me some bottom gold fangs ASAP too. Hate that they killed him off after 1 movie. Definitely would have like to see more of Killmonger, but I’m not familiar with how his story arc went in the comics.

Also wish they would have showed punishment for that tribe that switched sides. Although I guess technically they were obeying the new king.

I’ll go see it again after the crowds die down.

BRUH THE WORLD BUILDING THO. HOLY SHIT.

I hate to compare it directly but Asgard was literally ass in comparison to this. It felt like they were in front of a green screen for the entirety of Thor Ragnarok, but BP only had 1 location that felt a little too set piecey.

One thing that surprised me when I went to see it was the large amount of older people in the theater (50+) and they didn't have kids/grandkids with them. I liked the movie, solid 8/10. Xno summed it up nicely.
