After seeing a couple earlier notes about it, this is pretty much what I expected. It looks like it's being added directly to the V value of the magic damage equation. Bliz 1 base damage goes from 160 to 166. Bliz 2 base damage goes from 338 to 344. Etc.
It's somewhat comparable to gains from Int, except that you get the same value regardless of your current dInt. Essentially, it's most useful at very high dInts, where it takes larger amounts of Int to gain that same increase in base damage. It's also more useful for lower tier spells for two reasons: a fixed increase in base damage is a higher percent gain for the lower starting V; and the M values for lower tier spells are lower than for higher tier spells. +6 base damage can be as little as +1 int for low dInt on high tier spells, but can be up to 6 int for high dInt on low tier spells.
