Raise miscellanious monsters, feeding and interacting with them every day, until you unlock rank 3. Then, raise a baby Uragnite by yelling at it and feeding it three-eyed fish until it evolves. Then, feed the new Limascabra fish or meat, get angry at it, and collect items from it every day until you get its memento. Finally, activate its cheer by talking to the qiqirn.

Not sure why the first action taken on evolution isnt the same as the favorite action of the previous stage. Isnt that usually the next stages favorite (barring a few monsters)?

Well, I got my great ferromantoise memento, so I killed it off for making me log for dates...and got an adamantoise egg. New (slow) way to get black belt items / monstrosity unlock items, hurray.

I dunno. all my ferros have been acting the most positive to yells. and baby admantoise and adult to pets so far. Stars takin forever to rise up so I havent gotten to either of the last stages of regular admantoise yet. But ntot gonna be surprised when its pet for one of them too. But for some reason lately the first reported attempts are just about never the favored interaction of the last form these days.

The update is a week from now, I can see myself finishing off G. Adamantoise (just need cheer) but because Hecteye I'm behind on the rest and waiting on stars to evolve into G. Ferro, and White Adamantoise. Think i'll just keep the slot from G. Adamantoise open so I can start on w/e ones they add.

I've read the wiki but it genuinely is not clear to me how this works. I have a Karakul with R5 everything (except R4 furrows). What do I need to accomplish before I can start on another monster? Do I need R5 furrows only or do I need to reach a certain level with Karakul or something else?

As far as I know you just need the rest of your garden at rank 4 to start monster rearing. After its started you rank it up itself just like you rank up the rest. So basically interacting feeding and such your monsters will eventually put a Monster Rearing KI you buy at the normal Garden KI NPC that lets you rank things up. I am not sure which rank gives you 2 monsters (maybe rank 3 monster rearing?) And then when you get it to Rank 5 you can do 3 monsters.

I've slowly been trying to do this, but it feels like they are taking a really long time to grow now. I feed and interact with them every day, but I'm starting to wonder if the types of monsters you are currently raising have an effect on other ones based on the correlation chart.

And I hate the red raptor. I normally set my monsters free, but I've put down 2 raptors so far since they just evolve normally. Had a similar problem with the red treant, but that one would actually mature rather quickly.

The only thing I want to add to this is that for some reason on one of the recent Rank Ups for Monster Rearing (I believe going from 4>5 but it might have been the one prior) for some reason I couldn't get the KI from the normal Garden NPC in adoulin and had to actually buy it from the moogle in Bastok. Other than that just interacting with/feeding the mob daily has been enough to where I can always rank up the day of the patch each time.

If you're trying to get the subspecies (in this case, the Red Raptor), talk to Chacharoon and have him change the parenting style to "Live in the moment". This will prevent them from growing into the normal adult form while you keep trying with the squirm food.
