Yeah I guess if someone doesn't care much for cub/adult mementos he can skip the first 2 forms by trading a Savory Shank at least. Most of us had to go through the whole evolution process but if someone were to start cub from zero today he can use this little "trick" to go from semievolved Cub to KB directly.

I've been progressing 1 by 1 on mog garden monsters, just reached Behemoth path it's gonna be fun, how many weeks is it going to take to go from Cub to Skormoth?

Protey just said around 3 months.
If you're not obsessed with getting every memento, you can skip from Cub to KB by trading a Savory Shank to Cub when at 1,5+ stars.

What I suggest then is to grow up two cubs at the same time. One you will trade a Savory Shank to skip the end of the cub form and all of the adult form right into KB, saving you a good chunk of time.
The other one you will just trade a Beastly shank or wait for natural evolution, both leading to the same result of breeding an Adult Behemoth.
That way as you grow up your KB you'll have another Adult Behe and you'll be able to get both mementos while saving a lot of time.

That's my suggestion at least. If I could turn back time I would do exactely that.

I want every momento and have had the first rabbit for like two months on 1.5 stars and feeding it with Red Moko Grass every day and it squirms but nothing is happening. Am I doing something wrong?

You sure you didn't accidentally set the Mog Garden mode to "enjoying the moment" instead of "personal growing" or whatever the names are? With one of them the growing of pets stops or something, I think.

I did, but I want the evolution from feeding it and I read somewhere that you set it to enjoy the moment so it doesn't evolve naturally to another path. Or do I need it at personal growth when I feed it?

I'm sorry, I'm not sure myself. I thought "enjoying the moment" stopped all possible growth/evolution but I might be wrong here, maybe it's like you said and it only stops the natural evolution.
In which case it would just mean you've been extremely unlucky so far?

Maybe I should let it get some more stars before I put it on Enjoying the moment even though it squirms? I'm so confused.

If you get the squirm message, it means you have enough stars already, afaik.
Someone a page ago said it's tipically 1.5 for cubs and 2.5 stars for evolved forms.

From what I remember enjoying the moment made evolution chances much lower

I actually had to raise a second behemoth up to get my Behemoth memento, which finally happened today. He's also insurance if I fuck up the Elsamoth going all the way.

Lol don't do like I did and accidentally send home your 2 star KB because you click the wrong name. Had to start over and god these things are agonizingly slow growers.

"Enjoying the moment" simply prevents them from growing, preventing stars and any natural path evolutions. It's only useful if you want to prevent a squirming monster from growing into the non-squirm version, or if you want to keep something small.

If you're getting the squirm message, you have enough stars. If you're not getting results, you have bad luck.

Nothing is going home until I get a full evolution chain off the behemoths. I usually focus on one evolution series at a time- right now it's the behemoth and elsamoth, contemplating what's next though. I may keep the final-form behemoth around now that I can raise 4 monsters and just use two slots for whatever I work on next.

Also, anyone notice that there seems to be a time-related cycle on harvesting a given point? I keep a mining point frozen with rockoil (#4, top slot) and if I harvest it late (after 9PM EST through 1-2AM EST), I'll get a heavily ore-related (ocl, plat, rhodium) yield, but if I hit the same point earlier (11-3pmish on weekends, but also did it early yesterday) it'll load out heavily on the bonecraft end of things. I'm wondering if the points not only have a set selection of potential drops (which is obvious) but if the yield table also varies along the time-related routes.

I've had similar discrepancies with gardening furrows- I keep a constant dark crystal + cactus stem crop going, and I get a much more darksteel heavy yield with those late-night harvests vs. afternoon ones. The only cycle I can think of that might match it is the RoE timer.

The only thing I've noticed from my populating the drop tables is the following:

1-3 items, randomly chosen from the Metals+Either lists or the Precious metals+Either lists. This choice is invisible to the player, and is specific to the particular vein mined.
Choosing to mine multiple times will perform that specific action until it becomes unavailable. As a consequence, an initial "mine multiple times" that digs up metals will cause the next set of actions to dig up precious metals, and vice versa.

(Also, I recall Spicyryan complaining about FFXIclopedia stealing the Coalition Assignments tables directly from BGWiki, but when I see BG's pages for Mog Garden stuff except for Monster Rearing, it looks suspiciously like what I put together )

Even if it's is beaming with contentment, cactuar is visibly angry if you feed it seeds.
