I'm kinda stuck in a circle, I cant access the rehire NPC option from the Moogle as it keeps asking me for the 3 items.
I'ts rather annoying. I'll look into MM tomorrow, thanks for the suggestion.
Not that it's helpful atm, but you could get a creel of moat carp from the login thing, maybe they'll bring it back for the next one. Although I'm sure you'll have one by then lol
also i bought a bunch of super bait balls with bayld to try for the calico comet, and i got a creel almost every time i used it, set mithra to catch something, rank 7 if anything
I got a creel in flotsam couple days back from the campaign
I got 2x calico comet today with regular baitball. Npc was set to catch a whopper but I can't imagine that helped.
Seems really random. Like I've used like 6 bait balls and nothing... but without them and it just set to catch something I've gotten it twice that I know of (I think I might have npcd some without noticing before I realized there was something in the pond worth caring about lol) one of the times getting 2
I'm sick of Peiste/Gnole/Gnat pellets and shrimp lanterns. I think I got 6 in total between 8 double floatsams today.
Well Any time i used super bait i got a moat creel, and then i got that quest that we needed the moat carp creel and suddenly it took like 7 days to get one even with super bait. and ever since i got the moat carp and turned it in i get one every time i use the superbait. so it could jsut be the game sayin "fuck you buddy"
I was doin a search on the official forums for mog gardens to see any mentions of what items they added that we can plant (since i dont see such a list anywhere on the wiki, nor anything bout what each fertilizer does or possible results from various seeds).
I cam across this dev post i never saw before. Did we know this already?

So from what i am seeing here it doesnt matter how many things i get from the furrows, just that i have harvested it certain amount of times. I been using find seeds and get more stuffs. maybe i will switch more stuffs to good stuffs or something!I'd like to discuss a bit about the rank-up speed for the garden furrow in your Mog Gardens.
To start off, the requirements to rank up your garden furrow is based on the number of times you harvest. If you plant seeds that can be harvested multiple times, the number of times you harvest will be counted. For example, if you have a single seed you can harvest from four times, every time you harvest it will be counted as one, and when you are done it will count as a total of four. With that said, if you want to rank up faster, please try using seeds that take less time until you can harvest.
Are we sure it's really like that? That quantity doesn't matter but just number of times you harvest?
We can't really take their words for granted, seeing how many times they've given us wrong information
Oh god that baby sheep.
The whole monster raising thing is a little darker than I would have expected lol.
Some light information about monster rearing.
You can only have one monster at a time for now, though it teases at keeping more at some point. You can choose a strict or lean parenting style, which adjusts how fast your monster grows, but also effects it's spirit. After x amount of time, your monster will mature, and from what the dev comments and the NPC hints at, begin giving you items. Prior to that, I have no idea if it does anything for you. You can name your monster, though I didn't explore this to see if it's from a preselected list or just type a name. You can also feed them by trading things, though idk if each monster has a specific diet and what feeding does.
There's 3 types at launch that you can choose, sheep, rabbit, and treant. Each has an item that it "may" give you. Sheep is sheep wool, rabbit was moko grass, and treant herb seeds. At any time, you can choose to either send your animal off to some researcher (no idea if there's any benefit to this, other than getting rid of the animal), or slay them on the spot. I choose to start with a sheep and slaughtered it instantly. Got 2x lesser chigoes and a lanolin cube. Seems you can only choose a new monster once a day, though maybe sending it off to the researcher allows you to choose instantly.
The quest to unlock it is mildly entertaining as well, if only to see your baby qiqirn get mauled by crabs.
You just type in a name for the monster when the dialog pops up. I named my sheep "Dinner."
lol. I called mine "Bluebell". We'll have to see how this goes.
Feeding seems to help with contentment btw.
Fairly certain that's wrong. There are rather noticeable differences from harvesting only a couple at a time compared to say full 8. Like back when I was ranking them on 3 characters at once making sure only to check once a day but with different settings and things planted the difference in rank up was huge
