You mean the evolved form can give the infant form's KI as well? Or is this from the baby rabbit, as you put the "same rabbit"? That's pretty cool if so.. I was afraid you'd have to keep your pet in the "Living in the moment" choice just to ensure the baby pet KI.

Did anyone confirm about the crafting skills being a typo? I know there were inferences made because of the SE post on a glitch not increasing combat skill gain rate. Has anyone actually translated a JP site or done some crafting testing to see if their rates are different?

There's not change on the skill page. Testing a 1% skillup rate difference would be damn near impossible.

I have read this thread for a while but i kinda blanked out on monster rearing since i wasnt active while this came out, I apologize, but could anyone give me a crash course on monster rearing please¿? Like what can you get from this, and how

Right now, I have a lizzard that couldnt be happier and i have been feeding it giant sheep meat and yelling at it for the past 6-8 days.
What do i have to do to make it grow/evolve?

Rotten meat will evolve it into a grey lizard. Otherwise it think brown lizard just takes time to reach adulthood. Dasva has posted the list of what monster has what cheer a few times now so just go back a few pages and look for it in a spoiler tag. To get a cheer you just gotta be persistent and feed/interact/collect as normal, you'll eventually get it.

No i meant that if you get the baby KI you dont have to send it away/kill it to get adult KI when it evolves i thought id mention it since i think i saw someone post they werent sure if SE would allow us to get KIs off the creature you got the baby KI from and ive been wondering too since on my main ive had no luck with adult KI.

Oh.. yeah. I've gotten KIs off the same pet, as a matter of fact I finally got the white rabbit KI a few minutes ago:

KI allows you to buy Frost turnips from the moogle. Also, I found the items I collected today pretty funny, I feel sorry for the sheep that got in Snowcone's path.. must have been Billybob!

I finally got the Alabastor lizard KI for my goldsmithing mule, it lets you buy lizard blood from the moogle... kinda disappointing but whatever. I put it down and got a koppernickal ore from Chacharoon.

Man you are way luckier than me. Other than the one memento I got the day it was released I haven't gotten another since then though my mule finally got his raptor to evolve... only like 2 weeks after my main did lol

Edit: speak of the devil just got red raptor which let's me buy bone chip for I think more than the bone guild sells it for /sigh

So feeding my baby cockatrice ONLY Quus made it grow up into...a regular cockatrice. That was a waste of ~2 weeks trying to get a ziz.

Alabaster lizard memento adds lizard blood to the moogle.

Based on my own experiences and reading what others have posted in this thread, it seems that evolving monsters is somewhat random. I've had monsters change with a single feeding and others take weeks to change. My first rabbit took forever to evolve but the 2nd one I raised only took a few days from the start. On top of that Mementos are random too, I got 2 mementos off a rabbit on my main but haven't gotten any off a sapling on a mule. The sapling won't evolve either lol.

Happened for me on the Baby Rabbit > White Rabbit.
Traded him a Distilled Water. Next day I trade him a Red Moko Grass and I immediately got the "squirms" chat line. Next day he evolved.

Does switching its mode allow it to evolve from feeding but prevent it from evolving from time? My fail cockatrice squirmed pretty much every day I was feeding it quus.

Will all animals evolve eventually? After going something like 3 weeks at it singing at everything I did...

Is the idea now to grow an animal until you get the key item, then swap it for the next?I even made a point to -never- take items off of it as it lowers its' "love"... but I never got anything other than 15k to 20k gil and some random items when I "returned it home"...

At this point, that's pretty much the idea behind it. I guess a case could be made if you really needed mats it gave and didn't feel like farming em, but they don't tend to give much that's useful. The KI also grants access to a new vendor item from your Moogle, many still undocumented. Imperial Tea Leaves from Karakul is the most impressive one I've seen mentioned.

As far as raising it, always take items as it's an additional chance at getting the KI. It lowers their affection, but as long as you're doing other beneficial things to it, there's really no loss to it. At worst, it might get pissy and go to the dark side or whatever, I've still yet to have one do that so no idea what it does beyond make the rest of your Garden unusable and costs you Stars to fix. Pretty sure there's some random variables at work with mobs too; evolving items seem to always be the same, but temperament, time needed to evolve, and time to get the KI all seem to vary greatly between reports.

I've fed a sapling nothing but distilled water (never any fiend blood or potions) and it turned into a green treant, so yes they will eventually evolve over time even if you don't feed them favorable items. Pretty sure I did this with the rabbit as well since I never fed it carrots or moko grass, but I don't recall with the sheep as I usually fed it a napa I procured from the grove. As for KIs being able to be purchased from the moogle, I think the only 3 left to find are Ram and Adult eft, according to the wiki page someone was nice enough to share, very detailed:

I'm having trouble getting my white sheep to evolve into a ram, I think I messed up by over feeding the baby sheep... I wasted like 6 or 7 ancient boyahda moss (pain to get btw). Does anyone have experience raising one? Feeding a great moss to my current adult sheep has no effect on it now (no squirm message) and it's been at the highest state for about a week now. I think I'm going to just get the adult sheep KI and restart it, I don't want to waste any more boyahda moss since it's a pain to get. I believe I've fed the sheep a few boyahda mosses and 4-5 ancient mosses now too.

*also, I believe they only grow into their "adult" form, and not the special versions (white rabbit, karakul, tarichuk, etc.) unless someone else has personal experience of it happening.

I tend not to take items the first couple of days just to be safe but once they are even semi happy they tend not to darkside from what I've seen

My sister got a sheep to evolve into a Ram with 1 great boyahda moss after it being an adult sheep for probably months. It's just random unfortunately. There's no need to start over with a baby sheep unless you really want to.

Anyone figure out what evolves eft into Tarichuk yet? I'm guessing it's coral butterfly since that's the only added food that doesn't have a use yet. Guess I'll fish some up and try it out. So far I know it's not hare meat or giant sheep meet.

I've been trying every meat/fish/blood and so far the only thing I've found to give the squirmish message are lesser chigoes, which I think evolves efts into adult form. I'm assuming my eft is in adult form now because it no longer gives the squirmishing message, I'll confirm this if I get the adult KI.

In my experiences for efts:
Red Moko Grass / Fiend Blood = didn't go over well
Noble Lady/Quus/Chigoe/Rotten Meat/Hare meat/Cockatrice Meat/Coral Butterfly/Bastore Sardine = not worthless
