Also, sometimes food will increase growth faster than a normal growing... So your disbelief in your monster's growth is misplaced. Even more so because I've had monsters grow a whole star on the first day. (My bitchy raptor I forgot to switch to enjoy the moment so I could get the baby KI, had grown a whole filled in star by the second day, so it's not as impossible as you may think.)
    Especially since you weren't checking.

Unlike Magitek, who not only was checking, but also provided a screenshot. (Which wasn't needed for me to believe, but is helpful for evidence.)
So thank you, Magitek. Now the threshold is 2stars.

My previously mentioned raptor is now 2/1, so I'm inclined to believe Magitek and Dasva in that species are all unique and that sometimes you'll just get a little bitchy monster.
Stupid raptor squirming and not turning red....
I went through my logs, and the garbage code ( š™E ) works out to 1.5 stars when the dhalmel evolved. I refrained from using papaka grass before due to wanting the memento first. One empty star is ™EE.

Incidentally, it reached 2.5 stars (šš™) and I tried batagreens for the first time, and the adult dhalmel squirmed, but didn't evolve. It's at 14 days since evolving to adult. It may be able to evolve sooner, but 2.5 stars is definitely good enough for its second evolution.

So would we say that the current 'reason' to raise monsters is to collect all the mementos?
Although it is interesting that the Limascabra memento will make it easier to evolve a Sea Monk...

You can buy denizanasi from the whitegate fishing guild for like 50 gil, or fish them with 0 skill. I don't think we needed the help.

Well most will do it for specific mementos. To go past that would either be to catch them all or to keep rank up in hopes of them adding rank 4+ monsters

well if you do the gotta catch them all route, and go after every KI it making it a pretty handy shop for random odd things, might be by rank 7 the best place to buy items to skill up synths up at low lvls.

I can't remember if it was mentioned earlier in this thread: Can monsters evolve under the "enjoy the moment" parenting style? I'm trying to raise a karakul now, but my baby sheep is already at 2.5 stars despite being fed napa every day for the past week. I'm afraid it'll turn into a normal sheep before the random number generator spits out a karakul, so I've put it on "enjoy the moment" for now. What's the best course of action in this case?

SE said in one of the updates that Enjoy the moment wouldnt make the monster grow at all normally, but if you feed it a food it likes it will grow slowly.

My dhalmel evolved to great dhalmel (batagreens). Petting still strongly resonates, and I got mohbwa grass and papaka grass from it. It's pretty big.

Other than the new info, the wiki is missing that Papaka grass evolves dhalmel calf to dhalmel and that the dhalmel memento adds Giant Femur.

From my experience, best thing to do is keep it on Enjoy the Moment and keep feeding Napa. This will prevent it from growing into a Sheep, at least if it's 3 stars and still not turning into a Karakul. Can't say for sure if the squirm foods contribute at all to their default adult forms or not though, but I doubt it, based on the number of people (including myself) who've had monsters at 3 stars for extended periods of time with little to no results from squirming.

I tried that once, but I vaguely remember if it worked or not. Can you tell us if setting it "enjoy the moment" and feeding your sheep a napa will still get the squirm message, and can any of you attest that you've been able to evolve a pet in that parenting style? All I know is that if you set a fresh pet to "enjoy the moment" style, feeding it an evolution food for a week will not even give the squirming message. Your case is different, since it's already at a high enough maturity most likely. I remember trying to prevent a 3 full star eft from turning into adult by switching parenting styles after feeding it everyday... but I gave up after like 5-6 days and it turned into an adult instead of a tarichuk.

*actually, I have a pet at 3 full stars, I can try it myself. Recently had a colibri turn into an adult instead of the Toucanibri after feeding it mulsum for a few days.

That's actually not true, I didn't feed my dhalmel papaka grass at all and it still grew up to an adult. I'm 99% sure regular paths don't need any 1 specific food to evolve to adult form. It might evolve them faster, i.e. less stars, since in my experience it won't normally evolve till 3 full stars.

Did you get any squirm messages with batagreens? I have yet to get one and my dhalmels are at 2+ stars. Are you sure your dhalmel isn't a regular dhalmel (judging by the size it's probably a great dhalmel, but who knows). Only way to find out is what KI it gives. You only fed it Batagreens right, no Papaka grass? I think Khiinroye is just saying that batagreens is the alternate evolution food, and papaka grass is instead the regular/adult evolution food, assuming batagreens is the great dhalmel evo food.

I fed it papaka grass, it squirmed, and it evolved. Just because it is also the default adult form doesn't make it not true.

It is the same as boydahda moss for sheep, San d'Orian carrot for rabbit, fiend blood for sapling, and noble lady for cockatrice. They should still be listed so people looking it up don't have to experiment or wait 2 weeks or more for it to grow up on its own.

Papaka grass made the dhalmel calf squirm and evolve at 1.5 stars. Batagreens made the adult dhalmel squirm and evolve at 2.5 stars. I was feeding the adult extra boyahda moss and papaka grass before while it had a lower number of stars before I checked the description for batagreens.

Also, since it hasn't been added to the wiki yet, the immature crab memento lets you buy fish broth. 3 stars and I still haven't found what makes it squirm.

So... you're saying it's a two step evolution like lamb > sheep > ram, or are these two seperate Dhalmels you're talking about?

Yes, it is a 2 step evolution. It is the same dhalmel.

Well. I just started a rabbit and it evolved to white rabbit in 3 days feeding it only red moko grass. yet somehow the sheep on both my characters seemed to have skipped Ram and went right to adult sheep somehow. Ive only been feeding it great moss since it evolved from baby lamb. I am not positive its adult. but it gave me a squirming message the first day i fed it and then not squirms at all since. not sure what happened there.

Uhh, the adult sheep is what you feed great moss to in order to evolve a ram... I don't see how you can skip it XD. Maybe I'm misreading it and it's 4am.. but did you mean that you got a squirm message from feeding and adult sheep a great moss on day one? Try getting your sheep to two stars at least, or keep feeding it great moss since they're so cheap and plentiful now and see if you can evolve it before 2-2.5 stars.

well dhalmels being 2 step makes sense since they are just the windy version of rams
