I'm positive, I'm the one who discovered it.
I'm positive, I'm the one who discovered it.
I've taken a baby lizard to 3 stars and not once has Lesser Chigoe made it squirm.
They changed it in the most recent update. There used to be two evolve items for each monster, now there's only one to turn it into its alternate form. To get the vanilla adult form, you just have to wait until it grows up on its own, you can't force it with a specific food.
Did they specifically say that Fireon? That would explain why I never seen a noble lady make a baby cockatrice squirm, so I had to evolve it the old fashioned way for my alchemy mule.
If that's true regular evolutions are much more time consuming to get than alternates across the board, seems like a pretty dumb nerf. That explains why nobody has found squirm items for any of the new ones I guess.
I'm beginning to suspect that may be correct. Liquids, Greens, seeds and fruits are all bad reactions for urganite and I've tried every single meat and fish now and only 3 eyed gets squirming. I've also noticed lately that just getting normal adult for some older ones is getting more difficult than it was before
Yeah, that's the reason why I gave up on finding the adult eft trigger food lol.. but this wasn't recent. I'd say closer to January?
I was under the impression it was never a thing to begin with, but then then Khiinroye said this last week:
So either they're lying (unlikely) or it still works and there's something else going on here.I fed it {baby dahlmel} papaka grass, it squirmed, and it evolved. Just because it is also the default adult form doesn't make it not true. It is the same as boydahda moss for sheep, San d'Orian carrot for rabbit, fiend blood for sapling, and noble lady for cockatrice. They should still be listed so people looking it up don't have to experiment or wait 2 weeks or more for it to grow up on its own.
so we need to raise 2 mobs at same time that we know what the item was or is, Feed one the item and feed the other one random junk. see if they grow faster
The three stage evolutions are probably different, because the dhalmel line definitely has squirm items, where as none of the other rank 3 monsters seem to have them for normal evolutions.
I can confirm fiend blood use to squirm treant sapling at least. I'm trying it again on my mule to make sure it doesn't work anymore.
I can confirm that you could indeed evolve to the normal adult form through food up until the most recent update that gave us the rearing grounds. I was raising lizards at the time, had just retired an adult brown lizard and was working on getting an alabastor one. I distinctly remember feeding the first one lesser chigoes and making it squirm not even a week before the update hit.
Not that it matters now, just wanting to poist to confirm anyone who may have been skeptical it was ever a thing. Which is lame, because I still have to get adult sheep, raptor, cockatrice, and eft, in addition to all the new ones. It's gonna take a while.
If you get an adult memento before you get a baby memento, does it become impossible to get the latter? I know you can get a baby memento when it's an adult.
You can't get a baby memento when it's an adult, or vice versa. You can tell when a monster is an Adult based on the stars resetting now, but before it was more difficult since babies get to be adult size before finally changing on their own. If you missed a baby memento you'll have to start over with that monster.
So one switched over to feeding random fish to my urganites and one of them finally evolved after being stuck at max stars for awhile. Could be coincidence but maybe same food type as special evolution can lead to normal adult form? ie 3 eyed fish makes limbisca so any fish has a chance to make adult urganite?
Just now:
Spoiler: show
So, if I have a mob I want to transform into the alternate path, what's the best way to try to keep bad luck from turning it into the normal path? Switching to enjoying the moment, and the only interaction being feeding?
The list I did was all from monsters before the update that I'd done. I haven't retried any of those after. If they did take out the item to evolve to the default, then dhalmel may be an exception due to only having one form that the baby can evolve to.
I missed giant sheep meat on the list when trying to evolve my baby crab, so that's untested. The adult is still at 1 star, so it'll be a while before I can try to evolve it to porter crab as a third form.
It's been following that pattern for the older pets, except we still haven't found adult evolution food for eft and raptors? We could assume that the food would be a meat based on their alternative evo food though, if that were the case. I've tried most meats for the eft and haven't had luck with squirms, but then again I could have just been unlucky like the guy who says lesser chigoes never made his lizard squirm or my baby cockatrice never squirming from noble ladies.
