I think that's based on their personal growth patterns, like when I was raising either an eft or a raptor (can't recall which) they only were 3f for a day (maybe two) before popping, while crab was sitting at 3f for almost a whole week...
I can often see SE's design logic for most of their stuff...
But monster growth rates?
Nope.
(An adult Uragnite of mine was stuck at 1f for about 4 days or so before it grew anymore!!)

I think there is also some weird other factor. Like on some characters I can get them to go right away others it takes forever even when raised the exact same way at the exact same times.

That could VERY well be.... I mean... just look at saplings!
Some people have them be the bitchiest little shits that you want to put down just for being a dick...
But then others feed it a potion once at 1.5 stars and BAM, red treant.

Also, Dasva, it's been a few days, so your clot should be larger, have you tried chimera blood again? (it may be like the other T3 forms where they won't pop before 3f... when I was raising a crab, it wouldn't even squirm until 2 full... which made me paranoid since that was before we knew it was coral butterflies... I was working with that since I had tested all the other fish and meats back then.)

1 star clot had no reception to chimera blood. The only time I've had a monster not squirm to evolution food was the day I called it.

Well got adult slime yesterday and chimera blood still makes it stare off and slapping still not worthless. Lynx only likes meat now fish is not worthless.

And I'm starting to be paranoid and think that SE just trolled us all with the chimera blood listing... That it's not a new evolution food but just a red herring...
Or Slimes are just a butt species like saplings and raptors.

My baby coeurl has been at 3 full stars for over a week now refusing to grow into an adult or lynx despite my spamming electrified fruit into its adorable face. And yes, it's on personal growth I checked.

Noticed somthing strange (?).
Two baby slimes, both with the same level of development, both fed with the same food and same interaction every day.
Yesterday I went to interact with the same type of interaction (slap), one reacts with "wasn't worthless at all!" (hearts) the other reacts with higher tier of reaction (musical notes).

Slime memento allows me to buy slime oil for 2k, lynx memento allows me to buy lynx collar for 2.1k.

Maybe one grew up from food but it didn't register in anything else you could check yet because you haven't zoned?

More or less its the same as mini slime, stares off for yelling and get angry haven't bothered with the other two. As for food it likes fish and meat still.

Likely the one was beaming with the light of contentment, which makes all interactions have a better reception with the monster.

If it evolves further (into Hecteyes) then it will use chimera blood.
But given that it's a T3 evolution, it will need to have lots of stars (close to or even requiring 3f).
At least all previous ones do.

So I got a Bag of Seeds (yes, the BLM AF quest item) from either gobbiebox or flotsam or whatever. Planted it. No fertilizer. Takes 20 hours and with "collect seeds" set on the little Mithra I got a lightning cluster, a dark cluster, an ice cluster, a light cluster, and 2 more Bags of Seeds (since they're R/E it told me to come back for the second one).

I've tried feeding one to it at every new stage of growth, but it's at 2 full stars at this point and it still hasn't squirmed once. Coral Butterflies are hard to come by as it is... Yeah it's coral butterfly. I waited till it was at 3 full stars to trade one to mine. Got the squirm message and it changed the next day. I don't think 2nd tier evolutions will squirm until 3 or maybe 2.5 stars since they won't evolve more on their own. Then again it seems the squirm message varies based on individual monster species.
