Adult adamantoise squirmed and evolved into Great adamantoise with blue pondweed at 1.5 stars.

    Pet is still not worthless.

So I guess Red Pondweed is for White adamantoise?

Finally got off Mr. Slime's wild ride. Good timing, too, since I also reached 100k ichor and those 2 chigoes outside Hazhalm were my main suppliers of chimera blood.

Other adult adamantoise didn't squirm to red pondweed at 1.5 stars, jpwiki lists royal grape(needs verification) for great ferromantoise didn't squirm at 2 full stars.

Ferromantoise squirmed at 2.5 stars to royal grape but no evolution yet so I guess its confirmed.

Im pretty sure Great Adamantoise is the same as Adult Admantoise, strongly resonates with greens and visibly angry with poking.

got lucky today and got 2 mementos Hecteye lets you buy Hecteyes Eye, Adamantoise gives bronze nuggets, wonder if we'll finally have a place to buy Adaman nuggets from these.

edit: I was looking back at the cheer list which we used to guess the evolution path so far, our guess has been right so far, but isn't it also possible for the baby to have 3 evolutions reg, white, and ferro? i think someone gave the baby a blue, but did they try a red?

I'll trade my Adult Adamantoise red pondweed when it's 3 full stars to confirm if someone doesn't beat me to it. I don't think anyone tried red on baby because it seemed unlikely to evolve from it. It's also possible this is the first 4th tier evolution and it will evolve great adamantoise lol.

I just got a new baby so I'll trade if its at 2 stars unless you you beat me and it is a t3. but i've been thinking all day its just as likely to be a t3 as it is a t2, we haven't had a split for t3 before and we also havent had 3 t2s from 1 baby so either is just as likely.

It's not Poke, it's not Yell, it's not Pet. Which is the favourite action of Ferromantoise?
Strongly resonates to all fruits, right?
Not worthless to vegetables (gave it a carrot and told me not worthless)

Wonder if FFXI uses a "food" or a "botanic" approach to discriminate between vegetables and fruits (like for instance a lot of stuff that food-wise are tipically classified as "vegetables" are actually "fruits" botanically)

Out of curiosity, how does evolution work exactly, up until now I've always spammed the evolution food even after they've squirmed but with blue pondweed that seems impractical, do you just feed it the evolution food to make it squirm and then stop feeding it?

That can't be true. It was probably an error because of "Beaming with Contentment".
Tried Yell and Poke, and both made the Ferromantoise visibly angry.
Tried Pet and got the "Stare into distance as if you're not even there".

Only tried those 3 options so far.

It's normally random, you spam it till it changes. Things like Sheep > Ram etc that uses rarer items seem to be at or near 100% evolve rate though.

So if it successfully evolved, is it a case of feed > squirm > zone out and back in and it should have evolved?

I thought you had to wait JP midnight for the evolution?

What I wonder is: If you trade the Squirm food to a pet and it doesn't evolve on first trade. Can you keep trading it "normal food" and there's still gonna be a chance of an evolution sooner or later (because you already fed the "squirm" food in the past) or do you have to keep feeding the squirm food until the evolution happens?

You have to keep feeding the squirm food. It's not a delayed effect, nor does it "unlock" an evolution.

My feeling is no, I've had monsters in the past who have squirmed but then evolved into their normal form rather than the squirm path.
