lol i personally prefer spamming curative spells if i really need to get an eval because its within your own control.. sort of.

I call this my server droprate quota theory.
whereby if two items have the same designated droprate but one is spammed and the other isn't, the one that is being spammed will start off with the same droprate as the other, but the droprate will appear to lower drastically when everyone is trying for the same item.. because the server quota for the hour (or whatever time interval they designate) has been used up and you'll need to wait for it to 'renew'.

at least i use this to explain why NMs or mobs generally start off as having easy good drops until people start farming them consistently.

I got 4 capes in 3 hours just beating on the walls in Marjami. Went 10+ hours before that with nothing. Shits random.

Atm I'm at over 150k Bayld got from semi-afk Lair and Colo reives on PUP in Marjami and no capes.
Dunno if that's average or not.
Think I'm gonna move to Yorcia once they temporarily remove the Panopts.

yorcia is still shitty even if they remove the panopts sadly

Why is that? I don't remember Yorcia lair reives since I only tried a few. I do remember Colo reives in there and other than the true sight Panopts making it annoying they didn't seem any different from the Colo Reives I solo in Marjami.
Maybe I'm missing something in what you're saying?
Well, there is quite a huge difference. Given how things are now I rarely find myself soloing Colo reives in Marjami, whereas it would be solo >90% of the times in Yorcia. And solo colo reives take... forever.
So it would mean way less chances to finish a reive (and hence chance of getting cape) over the same amount of time spent in Marjami.
Is this what you meant? If so, I guess I can see your point =/

What's that? The knockback move? Why would it be any different from coloreives in other zones with mobs who can knockback you? Thinking about Chapulis for instance.
Also I wouldn't be fighting mobs anyway, just the roots for Coloreives or nests for Lair Reives.
Not like I fight mobs in Marjami either.

Not trying to be polemic against you btw, just asking lol
When I was trying to solo/duo colo reives in Yorcia the only thing that annoyed me was the true sight of Panopts, that I could notice at least.

Damage taken is an EXP/Bayld category just like it was with Campaign. Seems like the following are eligible for evaluations:

-Damage dealt to enemy(either yourself or via pet).
    -Damage taken by player.
    -Curing HP(Self or Others)
    -Casting Raise on others
    -Killing Blows

Things that don't seem to be evaluated

    -Enfeebling
    -Enhancing
    -Songs
    -Job Abilities
    -DoT

I played for about 5 hrs on Sat. while sitting at one lair reive in Marj. Ravine. I got 2 capes in the time there, Blm and Sch.That brings my total capes up to 7. Been sitting at the same reive for the last few days for about the same amount of time and nothing. I have tried Yorca's Colo and Lair Reives and have seen 0 capes. I know people who have nearly gotten all the capes and are after their last 2-3. I'd like to think that this is the VW luck all over again just in different form.

    facts why yorcia sucks:
    1. you cant solo any lair reives on any pet job because the mobs aggro you no matter where you stand compared to marjami
    2. the layout is a nightmare to get around and dont get fast to other colo reives
    3. mobs that suck:
opo-opos: huge devastating AoE that literally wreck my healing mule if it gets hit (into red HP basicly)
panopts: dont get me started on those
those snapweeds: hit like a truck somehow, more then the new birds in marjami (dont ask me why)
rabbits: "there is allway a rabbit in FFXI that can kick your ass", I am sure that one is there somehwere hiding for the right moment ¬.¬
aaaaaaaaaaaand last sprouts: AoE sleep that is not so easy to avoid like turnign your back on it compared to marjami, and since usually you have a small radius to wander around with little to no help yeah... your healing mule gets sleept too
all those mobs have somethign in common: they either have AoE magic or devestating AoE attacks or have some form of very annoying AoE debuffs

I am sure I forgot some things to list, but this is the short version

    1) Huh? :O I never noticed that, altough I only did a couple of lair reives and my sneak/invi didn't expire so I didn't have to refresh it. I only noticed Panopts aggroing me in Colo reives. Well given what you said then yes... this point alone sucks =/
    2) Well yes but with Spira's map it's not really a big deal to navigate, is it?
    3) Yes I noticed all that, especially the snapweeds when I had to solo them to farm the item required for a quest. But then again if you don't fight them (solo on pet jobs) this doesn't really matter, does it?

I mean I can see how 2 and especially 3 won't magically make people go to Yorcia just because SE temporarily removes Panopts, but it wouldn't make a real difference for a petjob soloer.
Altough with the first point... ungh... yeah, not going to happen =/

    1. Well if you can kill the lair reive before sneak/invis wear off sure. I know the few I tried my 113 ilvl bst pets would only get it to like 75% <.< before wearing but friggin pup could probably do it. If it does wear you gotta get lucky in finding a place still within the reive but outside of aggro to reapply them. Either way probably would require you to be less afk for safety.

    2. Yes yes it is. Just because you have a map doesn't mean the place isn't a rediculous windy maze lol. Sure it's easier with the map. But it's still a good 5 times more annoying than the ravine would be without a map.

You can solo colo reives pretty easily and stay out of range with pets and there are a couple nearish each other so that's kinda doable. But you wont be going to a 3rd on the other side of the map since the time it would take is better spent waiting for repop

For soloing the lair reive in Yorcia, you need to stand exactly at 19.9" to avoid all aggro. For some of the lair there, the safe spot for afk is actually in the middle of open field, not near the cliff/wall.

I guess it could work with /DNC and Spectral Jig with the cancel addon-thingie maybe?
But then again it would be super-annoying having to refresh it so often... not worth it lol
I'd just go /mage in Marjami.

Kinda ironic when you have 13x lv99 jobs and the only 3 capes you get in a week are for jobs you haven't levelled xD

I afk solo the lair reive at H-5 and K-9. The lair reive at North from the main camp is not soloable without constantly applying sneak. For lair reive at H-5, i stand at middle of the open field. For lair reive at K-9, i stand behind the tree.

    Spoiler: show

Maybe I was very lucky then as I did not get any aggro for more than 5 runs. The only time i got aggro was when i stand at lesser than 19.9".
