    your favorite free antivirus/firewall?

I have avast/comodo on my PC, gonna add something to my laptop, but I had my frustrations over the last couple years with this pair, mostly for being too strict on blocking new programs without asking me or notifying me why BL2 would auto-shutdown for example

looking for recommends for what you guys like to use, also my avast expires in a month and doesn't seem to show a free renew option

I can cosign MSE. It has been dropping the ball in neutral tests as of late but just don't be dumb. It also has a super tiny footprint. It never gets in my way like every other anti-virus. I pretty much lived without an AV before MSE. I cannot speak for Comodo. I presume it is a software firewall (because using more than one AV at once is headache city). I cannot stand software firewalls. I have a beast router with dats I update. It acts as a badass firewall.

Doubt it. Refurbishers use a general key most times.

I didn't mention it in this thread, is there a difference between laptop and desktop protection? I guess the router option would be eliminated if I do the wifi thing away from home

unrelated but any idea why chrome might be failing to restore previous sessions? I checked the box to "continue where I left off" in settings

it's kind of a pain because I'm in the midst of an essay this week

I know it's late Howie but I'd just recommend going with only Comodo. They have the best free security suite (firewall/antivirus/malware) out there for the past few years now (consistently scored 90+%).

They test firewalls/antivirus software very thoroughly.

Oh also about your Chrome problem, try to create a new profile. I don't use chrome but I've heard this works for some people with that issue. A simple search should show you how.

thank you, I'll look into that

I stuck with comodo for firewall, I didn't know they had free AV too, ty

prob gonna be lazy and stay with MSE unless it gets annoying though, avast was too agressive or I had the settings too high
