    Finding a job after graduating ( Bachelor's).

I recently just graduated from a 4 year university with my B.S in Business Administration. I graduated in May, and started looking for a job in March of the same year. It's been about 4/5 months and I am still having no lucky with the job hunt. Every job offer that comes my way is either 100% commission based b.s, or it's some scammer who wants me to work from home and buy some dumb software up front.

My question is what do you guys recommend for job search sites? Places to go? ANYTHING. My resume has been handed over to many entities, I am proud of the way it looks, so I honestly don't feel like I am missing out because of that. I've yet to receive any invite to any sort of interview from any of the Insurance companies I've applied for up here, or even a turn of the head from ESPN/Hasbro and the other companies in the CT/MA area.

The grace period for my loans ends in about 4 1/2 months, and I am already starting to get worried. I've filled out over 200 applications, paid a company to distribute my resume to 85+ job sites and I've gone directly to big companies doors with my resume. Any suggestions help.

Edit: I would love to continue on to my MBA, but I just don't have the money, and I would prefer getting hired first and establishing some sort of cash flow before I do that.

Have you applied with a temp agency?
Lack of experience is a motherfuck you may have to eat shit for a while so dont rule out applying to be an admin assistant somewhere
Use linkedin, many of my friends have had great success finding opportunities through groups and message boards there.
in the mean time its time to wait some tables

The answer is keep trying of course.

Also, look for an entry level position that can give you skills for the next level position you are looking for.

Relationships are key. Do you have one company that would be a home run for you? If so, find out what the VP or exec of that department does. Does he like racquetball? Find out what club he goes to, get a guest membership, and meet him. Sound shady? I've gotten two serious jobs in my life, both of them because I knew the person who hired me. Relationships matter, find a way to build one with someone you need.

I am on LinkedIN and always trying to connect with more people and join more groups. Every job requires experience, but no job is willing to give you experience to.... get the experience. I could try a temp agency though.

Yeah, I am definitely looking for entry-level. My dad is an Account Executive Underwriter for Traveler's Insurance, he got my sister a job who graduated from UCONN in music 6 years ago doing Insurance stuff, but he said the HR department has changed so much, and employee referral has gone out the window and is nothing like it used to be. Connections are HUGE, I totally agree, I just wish I had more.

Apply for anything you think you can do. "Experience required" is there to try and shake people's confidence. Send out shotgun blasts of resumes and you'll hit something sometime.

Did you get any work experience in college? Internships, part-time, whatever? Are you talking to people directly or just applying online and hoping HR picks your resume out of the cesspool? I wish you luck but it's a bad market and you have to get in touch with your potential co-workers directly. Do some digging on LinkedIn for people working at the company you want to work for in your area and reach out for a 15 minute phone convo.

Seconding this, throw those motherfucking resumes at anything and everything (within reason).

Also dont be afraid of going after jobs one or two levels above entry, interview experience is invaluable and who knows you might get lucky.

I would personally rather be living under a bridge and starving than be considered entry level again.

I had to re-entry level my ass to increase my desirability, a year later I was back on track and two years later I'm all set.
Having to start from 0 sucks major balls though, would not repeat.

Have you looked into graduate assistantships with MBA programs?

Free schooling and enough pay to live cheaply depending on area/school

Does your college have an alumni network?

Sorry man, you have a BBA and didn't do any internships. Honestly taking a commission sales job and working up is probably your best bet.

I lived off campus working FT, going to school FT and being heavily involved in sports. I am applying online(Cesspool hopeful) as well as people directly. A bunch of my friends are in the same boat, graduated and took them around 7-10 months to actually find their first job.

I haven't looked into that, but now that you mentioned that I will start to research that. I would like to find a company who will eventually pay for my MBA if possible after a couple years of work as well. My college does have an alumni network, but no one uses it

I wish I took up the Mohegan Sun internship I was offered, but they offered a stipend of 4/hr and I couldn't pay my bills/gas with that money back when I was offered it.

I don't blame you. $4/hr what a joke. Coming from a casino no less.

Google Internships pay 6k/month for 3 months. Could look into that short term.

On an unrelated note, competition for Google Internships is quite high.

Does applying for everything a company has to offer that seems remotely interesting or I could do with some training seem desperate? Does that look bad with HR?

Desperate/bad. If they think you might be interesting for another job than the one you applied for they'll tell you.
