    Epic movies, series.

So, I've been watching a bit of anime lately and going through box torrents isn't really helping me get my fix, a lot of the newer animes just aren't doing it for me.

I'm concerned I may have missed some good stuff out there and I'm looking for recommendations if possible. So, some of the stuff I like:

    Karas
    The Garden of Sinners
    Fate 0
Death Note(I fucking love murder mystery n' shit)

I'm more akin to the short series epic style stuff and I fucking love Karas and the story to that. I really appreciate any recommendations you guys might have.

    Thanks!

Akagi ( artstyle is from the manga... might put you off, but it is fucking epic and shits all over the more popular Kaiji ). Kid walks in from the rain after driving a car off a cliff, sits down at a mahjong gambling den to dodge the police and goes legend mode.

One Outs - Baseball anime, but character driven. I fucking hate baseball and couldn't watch 10s of it, but this fucking anime is godlike. Hustler gets outhustled by a down on his luck pro player and recruited to the big leagues, proceeds to smash face.

I've watched some of those and really enjoyed them, looking forward to checking out some of the others. Thanks for the recommendations!

Love how I search Akagi at work and Googles like "People also searched for Amazing Nurse Nanako" "Check out those tits"

Heh, just reread your original post. Some of my recommendations are definitely not short series, but they're worth it if you can persevere.

There should probably be a recommendations sticky just so we don't get these threads popping up all the time. Random anime thread works, but the name means that people don't use it for recommendations.

    No.

Fuck stickies. Fuck 'random' threads that go on for hundreds of pages.

Threads aren't made out of petroleum and platinum, and nobody reads stickies.

Ah, Karas looks like it features weird monsters and lots of fighting. I am amply comfortable then in recommending Hells.

What i really enjoyed big time was Ergo Proxy. It has 23 Episodes so it is not that long compared to others.

    Content note from amazon:
The domed city of Romd is an impenetrable would-be utopia where humans and robots coexist, and everything is under complete government control, or so it appears. While working on a mysterious murder case, Re-l Mayer, a female detective from the Civilian Intelligence Office, receives a foreboding message that something is going to "awaken." That night, she's attacked by a deformed super-being...what was this unidentified monster that attacked her, and who was the figure that came in between them? As Re-l attempts to unlock this spiraling mystery, a metaphysical battle cry leads her to the unknown outside world...

Ending theme song, "Paranoid Android" performed by Radiohead
Story and Production from Manglobe (Samurai Champloo)
edit: as to my liking it still is my favorite opening (visual & music) of all animes i have watched so far. Funny note: the Opening does not appear in the first 2 or 3 episodes.

Reckless fire~ S-Cry-Ed is one of the few shows I watch dubbed. I've rewatched it at least a handful of times as well.

It's a weird and frustrating thing to have to repeatedly explain why more stickies and fewer threads is really fucking bad for discussion.

It's weird that you give such a shit. I didn't realise a sticky for people to ask their questions was any different than people randomly making topics to ask their questions. In both cases, people are still just asking the same question. Either way it doesn't matter, it's not a big deal so chill out. Unless it is a super big deal, otherwise feel free to continue freaking out.
