There really is nothing going on with the FGC at the moment. And tanking is pretty retarded in both FFXI and FFXIV:

FFXI was difficult in so far as old skool PLD tanking between 2004~2008. Lets not kid ourselves, beyond that, tanking was shit easy unless you made it purposefully difficult, like being a RDM or a BLU tank. For all other purposes, people had SATA to stick hate onto shit.

FFXIV is pretty much easy mode-- WAR can spam Overpower a few times before mobs sleep or just spam continuously under Defiance while the DD pick them off one by one. Tomahawk for the wayward escaping mob that runs to the mages. PLDs can spam Flash a few times and their good.

FFXI tanking was easy. What made it complicated was the same reason any job was complicated. The ridiculously heavy dependence on different gear sets to maximize your effectiveness.

In fact I'd say that era of tanking was easier because that's before people really understood the game.

I got Daigo, Ryan Hart, Xian, Fuudo, Tokido.

Dunno why the last one is even an exhibition tbh, Tokido owns Jwong's soul.

shit yeah to all of these. i'm a bit baffled that we still haven't received the +R patch, hasn't japan had it for like a month now? i really wanna get back into guilty, but i don't have much interest in touching the game right now knowing that the version change is waiting in the wings.

The US version was supposed to be just a couple weeks after JP one, but was pushed back indefinitely with no real explanation.
