Because PayPal thinks they can arbitrate the terms of releasing the funding since they're the middle man. And they're usually absolute dicks about this situation. There's been a number of times over the years where PayPal has dicked over people who have donated to a charity or cause only to find that the person on the receiving end can't route the funds.

They also like to sit on the interest accrual and skim it off.

EDIT: And just as I pop off about how much of a bunch of scumbags PayPal are, they released the funds.

Paypal looks into any account with over $40,000 and will freeze it. My friend and I had a Paypal account with $48,000+ in it froze in college. It took almost 8 months for them to release the funds.

I decided to play nice and disable ad block, and got one of those fucking banners taking up like 1/4 screen across the bottom of the page. Clicking on the X to close said banner opened a new tab in my browser for the advertisement.

So yeah, fuck that.

Disabling Ad Block for Eventhubs and picking and choosing thru Noscript got it back to normal.
