The scene itself is also holding itself back. And the players as well in various ways-- If they really want to make that eSports money, they'll all have to sacrifice a few things. Namely the livelihood of grassroots tournaments.

3600+ competitors at an event, the largest ever for a pro gaming tournament isn't what I would view as being held back.

The grassroots element of the FGC is what defines it. Unless MLG or whoever let's anyone sign up for the events, it'll just never translate over. The scene is still growing every single year, if more sponsors (or current sponsors ponying up more cash) start getting involved, there's no reason to think it can't keep going up.

In order for sponsors to be gotten or current sponsors pony up more money, they have to see a high ROI, somehow. On top of that, TOs need to stop sabotaging eachother and work together IN SOME way. TOs should also work harder to gain those sponsorships, in one way or another. Jebailey got MS, no reason that the largest tourny completely LACKED pot bonuses. That's ridiculous.

I don't have jill, so I can't say, but dante combos are stupid easy. Bold cancels become second nature to the point where I accidentally do it all the time when I use stinger with vergil -.-

Outside of the 22S cancels she basically has Skullgirls combos, lol. Learning 3 characters is going to suck, but she'll be the main focus for now.

Learn wesker first, he is the easiest. If Jill is anything like dante, you'll wind up going back and messing with her constantly. That's my advice anyways, At least, this happens with me every time. Wesker is mad easy to use, and he's pretty fun, if you got any questions about him, just ask.

Yup, lol. I think it took me like a full day to completely optimize and get down my wesker combo.

Really wish I could still use SRK at work...could you point me in the direction of decent Wesker combos? At least we have a few local guys who play him that can teach me some stuff, but I don't think Chicago has any Jill/Chris players. I did find a really decent tutorial for her bnb that breaks down where you need to Feral Cancel and how to do so, and an old Assist Me had her jump loop that I'm pretty sure didn't change from vanilla. It seems like she has some good tech traps and mixups to make up for her low damage, but I'm still a bit iffy about a technical character that can't really kill off one hit. At least it seems like her pressure is all pretty safe.

1) I'm pretty sure you can't call the same assist twice in one combo, but can you use your other assist later in the same combo after using one? In SG you can only use one assist per combo across both teammates.

2) Are there snapback infinites from happy birthdays?

1) You can use both assists in a combo. However, if you use your 2nd char's assist, then DHC, you can't use your (previously) point char's assist to extend. For example, I do a combo with dante using vergil rapid slash, and then I DHC into swords following my dante combo. I CAN'T use dante's assist with vergil, but I can use my other character's assist.

2) What do you mean? If you are asking what happens when you snapback during a happy birthday, both characters disappear and the char you snapped in comes in, even if it was the happy birthday'd character. Your snapback can whiff and hit only the happy birthday'd character though and nothing will happen, the character just goes away.

Your bare bones combo (no assist, no X-factor, etc), starting off either a standing/crouching light or l command throw-> dash will be along the lines of

cr M, Cr H-> L palm, teleport L followup or dash forward, df+H, cr M, stand H-> M palm (on second hit of stand H), dash forward, cr M, cr H, S, air M, air M , air H, S, df+H -> THC.

You can optimize a little better with H teleport into air Gunshot after the M palm, but that can be a little character/position dependent.

Snapback infinites do not exist in Marvel 3 assuming you're thinking along the lines of the Marvel 2 infinite launcher stuff.

Ah okay, in Marvel 2/Skullgirls if you snapback during a happy birthday the point gets booted out and you can infinite the assist until they die, then the point comes back in.

Brawlsticks and SEs are rare now so the price is back up, by the time you pay $40 for one then buy upgrade parts you'll spend more than you would on just waiting for the MadCatz VS sticks to have another $80 sale.

Check the VxG stream next wren and see what deals MadCarz has, they should have at least one $80 model.

Are the MadCatz VS sticks the Marvel VS Capcom 2 TE? Cause I can get the WWE Brawl SE for 40$ right now, and really didn't want to spend too much. 80 is pushing it, even if its worth it. I'm still new, I would probably be fine getting a shittier model now and modding/selling it later on for a better one.

Are the MadCatz VS sticks the Marvel VS Capcom 2 TE? Cause I can get the WWE Brawl SE for 40$ right now, and really didn't want to spend too much.

No 'VS' is it's own line of stick, a successor to the TE(the other TE successor is the Fightstick PRO line). BrawlSticks are only $40ish but the stock parts are absolute crap, the deal with them was that you could get them for $20 before, then spend about $40 to swap in Sanwa parts. At the moment PROs are about $100 but they drop to $80 fairly often. Check Amazon or here: http://store.gameshark.com/listCateg...idCategory=274 during VxG(I think that's this weekend?) and you should be able to find one for $80.

Paying the $80 up front for the PRO is worth more than spending $70 or $80 overall for a Brawl/SE then having to do the labor of swapping parts since it'd still be slightly inferior(due to the smaller case) to the main lines.
