Wouldn't that change Blanka's b&b back to the CvS2 standard c.forward, s.jab xx fierce ball? knockdown -> shenanigans. Damn... now I want to play CvS2.

    MotW Terry? Oh fuck.

Anyways, looks like they're looking for a Planner, a Programmer and a 3D artist for the next KOF game. Will be 3D models, judging from what they're looking for. Also looking to be PS3 and 360. Hopefully it's not another Maximum Impact.

XII and XIII were all 3D modeling, they'll probably do the same shoot from the side/rotoscope deal.

I think Champ is excellent, and I do think he was top 10 overall at one point.

Americans have done just fine as of recent in Japan. When Ricky/Rog/Wong went over to Japan they did really good in the team tourney.

Latif/PR Rog/Dieminion also did well winning a round of SBO, which a LOT of top Japanese players have lost in first round in the past.

The TGS tourney was single elimination which is retarded as fuck, which is one of the main reasons SBO isn't even a thing anymore.

Americans get to go to like, 1, single-elimination tournament per year in Japan, if that. If Pr Rog/Wolfkrone/Wong/Latif/Dieminion sat in Japan and Japan had as many majors as America did per year, you would see them making top 8 there as well. Your judgement is terrible. As someone who has been to Tokyo and played, trust me, jet lag is a fucking thing. Japanese get used to it traveling so much to tourneys abroad. At least, they know how to cope with it quickly for a weekend throughout the year.
You seem to be extremely butthurt and making excuses for Americans LOL.

Don't take it from me, it's guys like Dieminion, Jwong, and Fchamp themselves that say Americans need to worry about the rest of the killers in Japan.

No, Americans have NOT done just fine in Japan. That is literally making shit up. They have NEVER won a single tourney, ever in Japan. And this is straight up fact. Your opinion of fine is distorted as fuck.

Yeah, you bring up the fact that Americans only attend about 1 or 2 tournaments a year in Japan. But you also conveniently fail to mention that they have been attending these 1 or 2 tournies in Japan for WELL OVER A DECADE NOW. And still have not even come CLOSE to winning. What is it, they've only made it out of first round once? Or was it twice? They have never even made it to anything close to a semi finals.

You are reaching so fucking hard rofl. Winning first round of SBO that one year = Japanese coming over here for 15+ years and taking all the free money.

And fuck EVO. That tourney has no bearing on true consistent skill, and I'm glad people and top players are catching on to that. It's only slightly better than typical Japan/SBO format.

Topanga / Round Robin is the only way in the future. And yes, Infiltration is top 10, but so far this year he's fallen the hell off, HARD.

Like I said, look at Gamerbee who consistenly makes EVO top 8 and top 3 American tournies. Dude is straight getting embarrassed in long set formats right now. I would bet anything Americans like Pr Rog, Ortiz, Wong will do just as badly vs the top tier of the rest of Asia.

I'll take Fchamp in this format over any American. Fchamp has sick fundamentals, plays incredibly smart, has reaction/reflex better than any American. Too bad he's all about dat mahvel now.

Regular double-elimination format still has an extremely important function, which is to let non-top players compete. If you make everything league/invitational, then there's never going to be a point where an up-and-comer can break into the top ranks. Yes, top players can get randomed out/fucked over by seeding spots in traditional bracket formats, but shielding them from 99.9% of the competition just because it may or may not have no shot at beating them does not prove that they are the best.

    .
I almost want to confirm this isn't Liroy's IP address. That is the amount of stupid on display.

First off, the discussion was about SF4, not 15 years of Alpha/Sf3/Sf2.

Secondly, no one here is claiming Ricky Ortiz as even top 5 in the US anymore. I could probably find 10 people stronger than him because it doesn't seem like he practices.

I've played, in person, all of those "rest of the killers" in Japan. I went even or better against a handful of them, and the ones that beat me more than I got them were Wao, -6, and Tokido. I think I might have actually went just 1-1 against Tok.

Bnbnbn, that Ryu everyone raves about, Shiro(Abel and Makoto), Makoto(Vega), etc etc were no better than me sitting down in the arcade playing. The top Americans are just as good as them, but obviously they are better than your average American player. The average player there is much, much higher in skill, but the very top players are all at the same skill level other than probably Sako, who is on a tier by himself.

The last time I payed attention and watched Wong meet Daigo and Momochi in a tournament (not a one game, single-elimination bullshit Japan tournament), he beat both of them and made Momochi look like a complete no one. It can go both ways at that level of competition.

Also, I do think Champ is extremely good as I stated, and I would look for him to be Top 3 in America when Ultra releases, especially if Dhalsim is playable ala Super.

Edit: FYI, if it isn't a tournament with $ on the line, I don't give a fuck what the results were of something, same as Shinebox.

That American who taught English in Japan won almost every single Blazblue tournament when the game released as vanilla over there. I forget his name.

Jean confirmed to be = or < Liroy.

Read Ixion's 'suggestions' for Ultra and some of them are pretty decent, some are just dumb...he thinks autocorrecting dashes should be fixed, I agree that they're annoying but they would have to take out autocorrect entirely(I'd be okay with that), but then he goes on to complain that empty jumps are too strong because you can block on the first frame if you don't press a button, lol. Seems very Dan-player to say WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN'T DP THEM IF THEY JUST HOLD BACK

I agree that auto-correct should just be removed and holding back during a focus start-up should not result in your character standing still.

I could do without negative edge as well, but it doesn't affect me as much as other characters.

    Hey screw you guys

    This set is amazing.

That said, semi-fuck results. Results matter, but you can still tell the quality of a player by watching them play, and Daigo is top 3, even in AE2012.
@Shinebox, he consistently does well in pretty much every tourny he has entered, even if he didn't win them. He got top 8 at evo two years in a row since 2012 started. He also went to GF of SF25th, and does exceedingly well at topanga year in and year out. Which, by the way, he's ranked 2nd in the provisional rankings for the 3rd league.

Ignoring results due to lack of exposure, and looking primarily at their gameplay, Sako, Daigo and Wao are a cut about the rest imo. Infil would prob. be #4 but after losing his coach, he's hella fallen off (probably the #1 proof that coaching has an impact etc.)

Fuck negative edge, it doesn't effect my character much, but it happens a lot when you buffer cr. M xx ex FBA, causing you to do a mp SHC.

I complained about proximity blocking ages ago.

I think focus proximity blocking is normally not a huge deal, but with red focus it could be a bit of an issue with the armor break on level 2, doesn't give you a lot of reaction time to do an armor breaking move of your own to stuff focus.

I not arguing that Daigo isn't not as good. But... Its nice that Daigo has gotten top 8 at Evo two years in a row for 2012... So has PR Rog and Infiltration. We are also talking about Evo ONE tournament. How many tournaments did Xian Top 8 at for the lifespan of AE2012 to date? Infiltration? Sako? The rest of the top 10 on eventhubs list?

A hell of a lot more than Daigo. But he's popular and has fanboys so vote for him. He's slowly failing further from first every year at Evo. Maybe he will finally fall out of the top 8 in 2014

We shouldn't talking about volume of tournament top 8s, should look at the ratio of # tournaments entered vs # of top 8s imo. Xian went to pretty much EVERYTHING this past year, and has won numerous tournaments where 7/8 people are garbage or I've never even heard of. Wonder how many tournaments he won with legitimate competition. I'd rank infil over Xian for AE2012. Sako also doesn't really enter anything much like Daigo.

Sako only needs to go to one tourney which is a qualifier for anything per year.

The last 2 years he went to one single "Qualify for Free EVO trip" tourney, won. He went to one Capcum Cup qual, won. No reason for him to go to others when he wins like every one he enters.
