Mortal Kombat 10 to be ready around the same time the new movie is set to release

A new Mortal Kombat game is in the works according to a comment made by Lance Sloane, the producer of Mortal Kombat Legacy at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Speaking to GamerHub.tv (via: Polygon), Sloane let slip that a new Mortal Kombat movie is in the process of being greenlit and that it is meant to launch alongside a new game in the series that is currently being developed.

“We’ve been in greenlight committee for a while at the studio and we’ve got a great script,” Sloane said. “And we’ve got a great director with Kevin Tancharoen, who is on board.”

“It’s just figuring out the business side of it and when we would do it and when we would launch it and how do we sync up with the launch of the game that they’re working on now. It’s not 100 percent yet, but we’re getting closer every day.”

The last game in the series, simply titled Mortal Kombat, was released in 2011 and brought closure to the series’ long-running, complicated storyline. Following its release, NetherRealm Studios developed DC Comics fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us.

CGAJ: One game I found you watching at Evo this year was King of Fighters 13 (KOF). The 3v3 structure of that game is pretty similar to CvS2, and it even has custom combos that you obviously loved to do in SF Alpha 3 and CvS2’s A-Groove. Does this game interest you at all?

Bas: I’m not currently playing KOF, but after watching those finals, I definitely see the similarities between it and CvS2. I feel like I can play the game at a high level, and after watching the finals, I can say it’s an interesting game. Maybe I’ll try it one day.

Because not many characters can get 647 damage for free third round wins by combining their Super and Ultra. At Evo Xian was basically getting rewarded for taking damage and even Xian thinks the character is cheap.

The whole not easy to use argument was also applied to Akuma and he has lower stun/vitality than Gen.

I don't know.. if his EX moves didn't suck and his super did less damage, then maybe Gen players wouldn't save for Super > Ultra

How? His normals are above average and some of them (cr.MK, cr.MP, s.LP) do not have hurtboxes on front of them, they also have excellent frame counts, while other characters same buttons have hurtboxes, smaller hitboxes, higher overall frame counts.

How hard a character is to use should never be a reason for them being "unbalanced" or "too good". C. Viper is an excellent example of this. Even Akuma can be difficult if he's being used competitively.

I don't think being cheap says how balanced a character is, necessarily. So saying Gen is cheap or Xian saying gen is cheap doesn't necessitate a nerf. I mean, Yang has some relatively cheap stuff.

I never said he needed nerfs or are "crying" about this character. I explained how he "does not have it hard" or how no character (not specifically Gen) should have unbalanced mechanics because they are hard to use. I also play this character.

Gen does not suck. Do not even try to say he does. I have been a part of the discussion on shoryuken tier list since last year in January, this was before Xian even beat Daigo and there was at least 6 players saying Gen was a top 15 character

At higher level play, Akuma is harder to use because you have an absurd amount of OSs to work with. Even Flash did better with Gen than Akuma and he's pretty bad with any character that isn't C.Viper.

Few things to take away from yesterday's OBS if you didn't watch:

* Triforce's contract with VxG has been canceled and made nonrenewable. Triforce gave no further details on why.

* VxG 2014 will be happening, this time in co-production with LI Joe & The Fall Classic.

* The famous Test Your Might thread that lampooned Players and TOs Twitter feeds at VxG was supposed to be a complete joke that went out of hand and taken seriously. Like 25 to 20,000 to 80,000+ views over two nights serious, with faces of the FGC dropping in.

* The government of St. Maarten may or may not have made players sign agreements that forced them to not talk bad about the country.

* The EVO rules drafting was something already in the works, but was expedited in part because of VxG.

* The thirst for Jessica Nigri was real.

First of all, I've never said Gen sucks. Also, your explanation consisted of a big damage number provided by a one shot use of all resources, followed by what someone said (Xian is correct - Gen's cheap, but Super/Ultra is just scratching the surface). Your explanation sucks.

Congratulations, you're a part of a discussion on a mostly dead board thanks to Facebook and the exodus of top players due to an Eternal September-ish event. Give yourself a pat on the back. What you failed to take into account is that tier lists are dependent on not only being able to use the character at it's most highest effective level, but that both sides know the matchup. How many people out there truly know the Gen matchup? Tokido sure as hell didn't.

The character turns off people due to execution and information requirements. That means unless you actually know a Gen player and can play him readily and he's at Xian/Amiyu/a few of the other long time Gens out there, you're not going to know all facets of the matchup. This will result in inflated results until people finally learn it. This is why I have been saying that if the Grand Finals were Infiltration and Xian, it would have played out completely different.

Granted, I'm not going to say Gen's going to look like shit in the end. He won't.

You throw out Akuma's OSes but then fail to take into account all the character dependent information Gen has to know. Things like where to drop a character mid Gekiro to get a cross/quickrise setup, hard knockdown Oga cross and/or safe jump setups, which characters can be hit by TC2xxHK Gekiro, which characters can be looped, which characters have Teiga unblockable setups, etc. The Gen/Fei Long image exists for a reason.
