Madcatz is part of the "no collusion" rule and one of Sp00ky's bigger sponsors + Henry Cen agreed to the rule. He probably didn't need cuss them out on stream, but he was absolutely justified in pulling the plug on them. If Chris wasn't part of it the reaction likely wouldn't have been as strong, but pulling that shit just days after VxG is just needlessly stirring the pot.

Long and short is I asked chris would he have picked yang if they werent splitting. he said no. end of story that triggers the exact fucking rule.

Sanford counterpicking chris is a valid counterpick...except NO ONE could vouch for sanford playing rog. People have seen and fought chris's pocket yang. the counterpick is what made shit really weird and it was just like fuck you guys. so action was taken.

Pot splits are nothing new. its when people make it obvious that they are splitting by playing a throwaway/super gimmicky match in grand finals is when people will take issue with the problem if it happens because teammmates meet in the 3rd round or something I doubt anyone will bat an eye but in grand finals? thats a giant fuck you to everyone watching, entering, and running the event.

Grow up. Play your shit...

What they did was stupid, but I don't really give a fuck about weeklies when it comes to fooling around.

I was more excited about watching Yang play than watching chrisg run a train on sanford using j.FP to be quite honest.

Here's the problem though, and this is for both WNF/TRB and NLBC - they're both more than just "weeklies" at this point. The ranbat is no longer a gathering of players with the potential opportunity to fuck around. These events now have sponsorships and production behind them. When you start pulling shit like what happened last night, you're now jeopardizing more than just people watching either physically or via streams. Originally, you were just screwing people who paid their way to get out to the venue and put their effort into the tournament, only to have the last game they're watching be an absolute fuckery. Now you're playing with people's credibility, which has impact both socially and financially. You're playing with the venue's because they're the ones hosting this fuckery. You're playing with the streamer's because they're the one broadcasting it to viewers who would otherwise not be able to watch it. They're also archiving your fuckery for later. Gives something for Kotaku to easily reference. You're playing with the sponsors' because they're the one attaching their name to the event.

When you start fucking with higher powers, don't be surprised when you get smote.

tbh I'd rather they kept the dp invincibility, but made it the same rules as Oni's. For that matter I wish they did that to every non-EX dp in the game.

I agree. But no, I think ALL DPs should be FADC-able on block... but only if you commit to it. No hit confirming FADC.

His invincibility could be tone downed a bit, but at the same time, it's 5f start up opposed to oni's 3f

I'd be okay with just EX's being FADCable on block, having to commit 3 bars for a get out of jail free card is fair, but the worst part about SF4 imo is how many characters get it for 2 bars, and even more end up with frame advantage for it; and that some characters don't even have the option.

Most characters hardly get anything out of it, they don't have 3-4 way guessing games

Fei long and Seth have a command grab so that is kind of a problem. Fei being compounded by the fact that he has a 17f forward dash

I wouldn't mind which direction it went as long as it was consistent, like shotos can FADC on block and apply pressure, while other characters can FA and backdash and not even be safe...and that's not even taking into account those like Ryu that can get like 350+ off of it.
