It's completely relevant. It would be like an NFL player arguing that they shouldn't be punished for leading with the helmet when it was completely kosher to do a few years prior before the rule change. If that rule had been in place when VxG went down, you could be damn sure someone would have said something, based solely on the fact it was Chris and he has a history of pot splitting and just all around being a jackass.

I don't believe there is a grey area. It should be very simple to identify if someone isn't playing to their fullest potential. Chris looking straight at spooky, laughing, then picking Yang is a pretty goddamn sure sign he wasn't taking it seriously. He didn't need to see the match at that point because he already knew what Chris was up to.

I don't think Champ was apart of it and Chris G wanted to see how far he can go. That and he probably saw how hard Champ got bopped by Flocker's Hawkeye.

But let's be real here.. the GRAND FINALS had Phoenix Wright apart of them along with whatever trash Chris G put out there. At that point, it's obvious pot splitting.

But hey man don't worry, Chris G was just practicing with his secondary team in case someone hard counters his Morridoom.

You too, jesus christ. I am NOT arguing in chris's favor. I said what he did was stupid multiple times. I never brought up the GF for a reason: it's very obvious that they were colluding/pot splitting at that point. What I am arguing (which should have been very fucking clear) is whether or not there is a gray area within the rule. I have not once said it applies to what happened at NLBC.

First off, I'm not a TO, and neither are you Leroy. We don't make that decision. People could have assumed that Chris and Champ were in on something, which probably would have led to them watching the match really closely. Once they were actually getting into the match, it was obvious that they were both actually trying, and nothing would have happened.

No grey area, just a player with a history of these things being watched closely because he was doing something questionable.

I seriously doubt TOs would be responding in the way Sp00ky did last night, cutting the match off almost instantly. But again, looking at the way Chris was acting, there was no hell he was not going to sandbag and shit up the stream (Sp00ky's product).

There's only a gray area if the TO is ignorant to the players with a reputation who triggered the rule to begin with. Frankly it's probably not worth worrying about whether or not some unknown longshot is colluding, and the pool of players with reputations is small and manageable.
