i wasn't following much in the FG world during DOA4's time, so i definitely missed that. i can only imagine how bad that must've been.

World of Tanks is really popular, like lol/dota popular in eastern europe and asia.
The publisher is throwing money at the esports sector of it because it maintains interest and brings in new players.
They can throw $500k a year at esports because it makes them more than $500k/year at esports.
Lots of games that get "esport money" in reality get PR money that is spent on tournaments instead of advertising. Think NRS games and the money they add
Examples: UT @CPL, Painkiller at CPL, riot at x ( before lol got massive and it was the lolf2p version of hon ).
Capcom/Namco don't have any reason to throw that kind of money at the scene, unless someone can convince them it will benefit them to the same degree the above examples did.
Why is it in someways good? The FGCs ability to run events off its on back without relying on that kind of temporary money injection is fucking amazing.
A lot of the time when that PR money dries up the game dies as the pro scene dies and the pros and their followers move on to the next game that a PR team decides to throw money at.
The FGC won't suffer that fate.
Be advised: +R will be at TRB tonight and will most likely be getting stream time.
Any killers out in that area? Need wherever the hell it is that Latif plays to get it lol
viq trying to be hard makes me lol. ok triforce.
will be streaming a yatagrasu lobby tonight sometime. prolly 9 est.
I think Paul (SuperFX) is heading up that way tonight and bringing his entourage. Not sure who's a killer out there beyond that.
Dota 2 is fucking great to watch. As normal liroy is liroy
I watched it for 20 minutes and nothing was happening, so I tuned into Saltybets and had the best time ever.
So, no it's not liroy being liroy. Shit is boring to watch and I don't feel like waiting 50 minutes for anything interesting to happen.
E: Explain to me why it takes 5 minutes to select characters. That shit really don't make sense at all.
It's the counterpicking process. 2 bans for each side, then 2 picks each, then another 2 bans each side, then 2 picks, then 1 ban each, then 1 pick.
A lot of people disagree obviously, but I find MOBAs boring as all hell to watch.
You have to figure out who can play a particular character to counter what their opponent is showing at the time, assuming the desired counterpick character is not banned or already selected (no mirror matches). Each phase is limited to a certain amount of time with 2 minute reserve time to make sure it doesn't take forever.
EDIT: It's like putting a time limit on BALA trying to figure out how to counterpick MadKOF in 2012.
I agree, but I'm trying to give it a chance. I didn't watch the latter portion of the last match because salty bets was much more engaging to me.
But it seems like people get the most hype over pvp... so why not just watch fighting games, Kappa.
All of you trying to be e-thugs are ridiculous, "OGs" and "09'ers" alike. Grabbed Yatagarasu but all those ? in the launcher, need me some language packs it seems.
open up the manual. it has a guide for that. run the game in applocale and you're good. when i'm done writing this article for eg we can play iffin you want. i'm able to play japanese people with minimal lag so i imagine we'd be fine
on an elitist note: dota is not part of the moba genre. dota is its own genre. lol didn't HAVE a genre until they coined the term moba. hon called itself dota genre as well initially. riot didn't want to call it what it is so they coined it. but dota is not a moba.
Spoiler: show
sopa, yoda, whatever, it's boring
